Netherlands - Mohammed B. on killing filmmaker Theo Van Gogh - Sick!
Edited on Tue Jul-12-05 05:17 PM by demo dutch
Mohammed Bouyeri's statement to Van Gogh's mother in court:
"I don't feel your pain," he said. "I have to admit I don't have any sympathy for you. I can't feel for you because I think you're a nonbeliever."

According to Dutch newspapers, the Marrocan native did it out of conviction and stated "I follow the law which orders me to chop off the heads of anyone who insults Allah and the prophet(Mohammed)"

Mohammed B. received life in prison for killing filmmaker Van Gogh

This was the only English piece I could find

2. IIRC the Qu'ran is seen as the direct, exact, unabridged
word of God, but only in the original Arabic. Whether that means literal or figurative interpretation is kinda up to the reader, but, indeed, The Koran does have some not so great parts in it, just like the Bible:

7. The thing about racist xenophobia is that if it there weren't a religious
element, it would manifest itself some other way and crazy, criminal, unstable people would still react with murder. The same rightwingers who beat people with baseball bats would still do that, and the same people who murder filmmakers would do that, and we'd probably be in the same place.

5. both of you above (death penalty, burning alive)
talk as if you were freepers

one of the main differences between democracy and all the values associated to it and non-democracy is that you treat even the worse criminal as an human being, which means that deprivation of life, cruel punishment and suffering are banned. Get into your heads that a condemnation is an act of justice, not of vengeance.

According to your above statements, since there must have been at least some really guilty people at both Abu-Grahib and Gitmo, the way they were treated can not only be excused but even condoned...

I can understand the anger after crimes like the bombings in London, but treating our enemies the same way they are treating us, puts us at their level : retrogading from the 21th century to the Middle-Ages...

8. NO! It is not a "freeper trait"
to want to kill those that want to kill you. It's a trait that has kept humans alive for thousands of years.

11. Killing in self-defense is OK
Killing a prisoner is another story. Specially burning him alive...

Don't you see that you use exactly the same vocabulary than the warmongers ?

9. Uh, no.
As long as there are free elections where the majority of the citizens are able decide which rules and laws are established and which people are allowed to represent them or administer the government, it's a democracy. Democracy is ultimately about fairness and an equal say, not about whether or not the laws include the death penalty. This is why we have impartial juries, so that it isn't about vengeance, but about justice.

6. This is fucked up:
"I don't feel your pain," he said. "I have to admit I don't have any sympathy for you. I can't feel for you because I think you're a nonbeliever."

A non-believer. And what exactly does Mohammed Bouyeri believe in?

I've had it with these ignorant religious freaks. Life in prison is too good for him.
