That CBS Anchor chair was all but his until the Swift Boat assholes sank Rather and shook up the network's plans. Methinks Roberts has some sweet vengence and could pick up some brownie points in the process.

Remember, Shiefer is only part-time, the network has been putting off naming a new #1 (probably waiting to see what ABC does with Jenning's chair). Roberts and Gregory have been all over the news the past couple nights and he could be the Rather (Mr. President, who are you running from??) to Scotty and maybe even Bunnypants in this unfolding scandal...and yes, this has been upgraded from a mild political flair to a full-blown scandal.
