Why the fuck does Sludge have a picture of Hillary above his Rove story???
?

It's the main story. Right below the picture, the headline says "ROVE, OH NO!".

Wouldn't it make more sense to put a picture of, um, I dunno, ROVE? to go with the ROVE story?

And what's with the "ROVE, OH NO!" headline that links to an article titled "White House: Bush Has Confidence in Rove"?

Could it be that Sludge is saying "Now you don't want to be on the same side as HER now, do you? The Devil herself?? Look at her all hysterical "Rooove, oh nooo!"".

Oh brother. :eyes: It's all Hillary all the time with these people. I think they're thinking about her as much as they do sex.

4. They are SO fucked that the only thing left to appeal to...
...is the primal hatred of Hillary.

And to say "Wilson is a Democrat!".

20. Secret crush?
Do you suppose all these Hillary haters really are spurred on by a secret desire (which they can't truly admit even to themselves) to get into Hillary's pants?

I mean that's how it works with a great many males in early adolescence; many of these people have never truly grown up.

Is this actually a defensible theory?

(Just a thought.)

9. Ah, the obligatory chiding
I go to all the right wing sites.

If you want to know what's going on in politics, then you have to know what's going on in the Right Wing grassroots and what kind of propaganda is being pushed from the top.

Take this example. GOP talking points and Ken Mehlman on CNN today are spinning this story into, basically, "Wilson was a Democrat". The Freepers, meanwhile, are weakly and pathetically trying their best to pretend that Wilson has anything to do with why Rove outed a CIA asset. Meanwhile, Sludge is appealing to the most primal instincts of the Bushbot populace: hatred of Hitlery.

THAT IS ALL THEY'VE GOT.

Some other right wing blogs like hotchicken.com are actually calling for Rove to be fired, some of them engaging in completely unprecedented anti-Bush rhetoric. "Unprecedented" -- I know because I read them regularly.

In other words, all summed up: the right wing has never been this freaked out about anything since Bush was first selected. There has never been this sparsity of propaganda, this level of dear-in-the-headlights rhetoric. Ever.

So, you tell me: is that not a valuable piece of information? Does that not shed crucial light on the nature of this scandal?

13. perhaps
It won't happen but what do you think would happen if every democrat in congress refused to go on faux unless they were guarenteed equal time as their counterparts?

that would go for cnn, msnbc, and other msm

16. What would happen
is two things:

1) Faux would have maybe 10-20% less of their viewership;
2) Republicans would be free to completely shape the minds of 30% of the population without interference by anybody. Do you think Democrats go on Faux to help out Faux?

Furthermore, the analogy is inappropriate: Democrats go on Faux to GIVE information, I go to right-wing sites to TAKE IN information.

What would happen if no liberal wanted to eavesdrop in the conservatives' conversations among each other?

We'd be running around like headless chickens without any idea of what's on the other side.

15. one more point, is there anything you have ever learned
by going to drudge or cnn, or fox, that you don't already know how they would spin it?

18. Interesting question
1. The answer is "yes" and "frequently"; I, for example, am very pleasantly surprised that the spin on the Rove thing is SO FUCKING PATHETIC. It gives me a whole lot more confidence that there is something in here worth pursuing, and zealously.

2. How would you "know how they would spin it" if you don't watch the spin in the first place? Their propaganda is much better than to be static. They wouldn't have gotten this far without it. For example, now they're in an entirely different context from where they were 3 years ago.

19. interesting
I guess it is good that there are people from DU who watch the other side, so they can report the outrage to those who won't watch it. I guess it shows what we are up against, though I already know what we are up against.

I do NOT think that the democratic guests on faux change anyone's mind. Like you said the spin is pathetic, but it is pathetic to us, not to a believer.

Perhaps they will spin enough that the spin will cause them to hang themselves. That is possible, but only as long as we have independent three branches of government:

Judicial
Legislative
Executive

In this case the Judicial is the most important, and if we don't take back the Congress in 2006 it will NOT matter for a long long time

Probably buggered by his mother, which then engendered a latent hatred toward her and by extension anything remotely female.

8. It's part of the spin mantra: "Kerry, Hillary Clinton, Dean." Mehlman...
used it on CNN. They want to convince people that it's all political, promulgated by these people they hope to categorize as wild-eyed leftists attacking an honorable public servant :sarcasm: Rove.

"Wilson is a Democrat."

"Hillary wants Rove fired."

That's basically it.
