Would the following canidates please leave the race:
Mosely Braun,Sharpton,Kucinich,Edwards and Graham.

Thanks for your effort and your dedication to your beliefs but you don't have a snow balls chance in hell of getting elected. And in the process of trying to get elected, you're drowning out the canidates who have a chance. That debate tonight was a mess because there's too many chefs in the kitchen.

Flame away.....

1. I don't believe that anyone...
...has even one vote yet. Why would anyone leave?

2. You bet I'm gonna flame away. I like your posts Rummy but I gotta
fight you on this one. It's not a question so much of winning. Sure some of them don't have a chance, but at least they can show they deserve a piece of the pie when we win. I'm hoping all of them will find a place in the new administration. (Well, er - there is one I don't care for).

When it's time to name a nominee, all of them will do the right thing and step down and support the nominee. Now is too early.
I think we're in good shape right now.

3. No flame.
At this point in the race I know that these people don't stand a chance. However, I think they should still be able to spread their opinions. It creates a sort of competition that forces the candidates that could win to become smarter, more polished, and ready to defeat Bush. That's what it's all about, ain't it?

5. This wait 'til the voters decide thing bugs me, too. In fact, since we're
at war, shouldn't everybody drop out so we can focus on more important matters? I'm sure President Bush will agree to serve for four additional years (or however long it takes to smoke out whoever it is we're smoking out this week). Then, when order is restored to this unruly world, we can vote--if anybody still wants to.

6. Keep 'em in.
They're voices that need hearing within the party. We've been out of power and out of the media's interest for a few years, so the voices of our party don't get aired.

Without them, we'd have Lieberman having his "Sister Souljah Moment" against the whole democratic party, which would provide the only relief to a food fight between the other candidates, who despite being 80% on the same page, seem to think the other candidates all have horns and pitchforks.

7. Why should they leave
We cant just force them to go, this is a DEMOCRACY not we choose who we want to stay and who we want to go. This isnt a reality show where we vote off who we dont think can win just because of our feelings. I dont like people suggesting this one bit, well if Kucinich leaves I will support the dem nominee but its Kucinich who inspires me.

9. I hope Mosely Braun, Sharpton, Kucinich, & Edwards
Stay in as long as possible, and raise hell
and make it clear that they won't be ignored
and they won't shut up.

Whereas I hope Leiberman & Gephardt are abducted
by aliens. Granted that would seem redundant
given that they were abducted by the GOP years ago...

12. so do I
Its basically like run along you guys, we dont think you have a chance, well its your superficalness and fear that makes you nervous about a guy like DK and the others. We never know what could happen Myra, this fall and this winter could be the beginning of the Kucinich road to victory, we dont know, I dont think anyone saw Dean coming. Now some of them act like our guy Kucinich has to withdraw just because they made it far, that to me I dont like you know why, its like an immigrant looking down on a person like that. I didnt just mean Kucinich, I meant all the "unelectable" candiates because they are too liberal.

10. Preposterous
Any one of those candidates could wind up with delegates. On the other hand, by the time we get to Boston, any one of the candidates you implicitly support could wind up with zero delegates.

At this point nobody's looking like they're ready to walk away with the nomination outright. Relax. Let it play out. Who knows, you might learn something along the way.

14. got me lib guerilla
probably because a certain person is using the polls as his guide, its not about popularity or money, its about ideas and doing the right thing, and we know damn well those two are good as anyone is at that or maybe are the most talented overall.

13. I've been very impressed............
with all of those you've mentioned. They bring terrific ideas to the table and their voices, however minor, are making the chorus of Democrats resounding. Now is not the time for them to drop out. Let them have their say, when the money runs out they'll do what is right and leave. Except Gephardt and Holy Joe; they can go now. ;)

15. What if the candidates who used to be Republicans move to the

GOP? And maybe we ask Gephardt and Lieberman to sit this one out as they've been the worst about enabling Bush*, though they do have good voting records and are needed in Congress.

That leaves us with the candidates you'd like to kick out, Braun, Edwards, Graham, Kucinich and Sharpton, plus Kerry -- and a much more progressive group to choose from.

Or what if we wait and see how the voters decide?
