While We're Fighting them over there, They're Sneaking up on us over Here
soon that silly mantra will be meaningless when the next terror attack occurs. timmy mc viegh was over here. eric rudolph was over here. and you can bet your ass that there are plenty of angry muslims over here too.

in the bushcult's minds, every terrorist is a muslim and every terrorist is currently in iraq, and all the other world's terrorists are going to iraq to fight america. what utter bullshit mythology.

someday soon, they'll eat those silly words.

1. Agreed... considering the London attack was done by a few of Britan's....
own I can't quite understand why on earth Bush or Americans can remain foolishly blind to the same thing having a high probablity of happening "over here".

Terrorists and Terrorism doesn't have set boundries. It doesn't have a specific nationality, a specific skin color, a specific religion, or a specific sex. To assume that it does lets ones guard down against any that don't fit a specific "profile" which endangers all those you are supposed to be protecting.

Don't even get me going on how well our borderes are protected.. I basically live right on the longest one.:eyes:

4. I still can't believe how many people
buy into that sorry argument. I wrote an angry letter to the editor last summer about that very point. "We're fighting them over there so we won't have to fight them here." I said unless Bush had some secret treaty with bin laden, there was no way he could guarantee that. Someone's answer to my letter said that since we hadn't had any terrorist attacks, Bush's strategy must be working. Now I'm seeing all sorts of letters supporting Bush, saying in essence: "Bush was right. They're still out there lurking, trying to get us." Aargh!!

5. Good point, Mopaul. The sheeple believe that the war is keeping us safe
here. Bushco has left the ports unguarded, the borders are a sieve, nuke plants unhardened, public transport other than airports have no protection, and OBL is still at large. The war has served more to recruit more terrorists than anything they could have done.

I keep waiting for another shoe to drop here in the US; it's not a question of if, but when.

6. We are devouring ourselves in our fear of THEM
Usandthemism is a recipe for disaster.

This is the land of the once free and the home of the brave. We need a peaceseeking President far more than a war-loving fearmonger.

I'm so sick of that illogical crap. A couple days ago some idiot wrote a letter to the editor in one of my local papers about his support for the war in Iraq and about how liberals "just don't get it" and blah, blah, blah. At one point he makes this absolutely amazing statement:

Question: Where would the terrorists be plotting and pillaging if we hadn't liberated Iraq? London? Paris? Madrid? New York?

Quite apart from the fact that terrorists don't usually stick around to "pillage" this idiot seems to be under the impression that our little mission in Iraq has put a stop to all the plotting against us outside of Iraq. It's amazing that he'd mention London and Madrid in his little rant when those two cities were attacked after we went to "liberate" Iraq. Where would the terrorist be plotting if we hadn't liberated Iraq? In the same places they are plotting now, only now we can add Iraq itself to the list.
