1. Unfortunately it does kind of work
in the court of public opinion. It's all they have left (it's interesting that instead of saving * Rove now has to try to whine himself out of a jail term).

4. Doesn't matter
and it still isn't working.

5. Plame was a traitor?
I don't understand how even the most ignorant of Republicans came up with that one!

Plame worked at the CIA and someone leaked her identity. How does that make Plame the traitor?

3. They clearly know the LEGAL fight is lost...
...so they are concentrating on the PUBLIC arena.
They are catpulting as much of their oozing, malodorous PROPAGANDA
as they can.

If they can create the perception of an "insane liberal witch-hunt smear campaign", they can get their BASE worked up enough to forget all their many lies and failures (AGAIN!).

ROVE is toast; they are working on the '06 election problem now.

6. If Rove avoids prosecution, the battle will be wholly in the realm of
public opinion, in which they can create enough static to muddle the conclusion.... just like they did with the Swift Boat Vets, their objective was not to get America to BELIEVE the Swift Boat Vets for Truth, but just to create enough confusion as to negate Kerry's war record as being any kind of asset to him... i.e. "the jury is still out on Kerry's war record.... the jury is still out on the intent of Rove's convesations wit the reporters."

7. Doesn't matter--there's still an ongoing grand jury investigation.
Political spin doesn't work in a court.

8. BINGO!
Rove is going down, and he's not going down alone.

Watch, this entire administration is unraveling.

They misunderestimated the tenacity of Fitzgerald.
