DU this CNN Poll--44% say "brush aside civil liberties"
Hi actually this poll is on CNN International--the version which is broadcast around the world.

Here is the question:

Is it right to brush aside civil liberties concerns in fight against terrorism? It's in the lower right-hand corner.

64. They think their liberties won't be affected...
These are the 44% who don't rock the boat; they just go to work and then home and then watch TV then go to bed and maybe go to a bar once in a while.

One day they'll realize and then say "whoops".

11. I'm calling BS on these CNN polls. Watch, by the end of the day
this poll will be 93% NO WAY, with 56000 votes.

I think CNN pads the idiot vote at the beginning, and hopes nobody notices the poll, so they can pretend that there's another POLARIZING SPLIT in the electorate, where 'nearly half' or 'a third' of those polled said it was 'OK if I get dragged out of my house, pumped full of thorazine and shipped off to Gitmo, if it makes the homeland safer'.

As far as I'm concerned brushing aside civil liberties is terrorism. That doesn't mean to compeltely free someone who is positively known to be involved in killing people.

49. One day Tony Poodle stands up before the world and says,
that to change the way we do things, is admitting that the terrorists have won. Then the next day our so called cowardly leaders, saying that we should "brush aside civil liberties" to fight Terra!

It just seems to me, that to "brush aside civil liberties" IS ONE HELL OF A CHANGE in the way of doing things! The people who voted to "brush aside civil liberties" are COWARDS IMHO! Cowering in fear and letting Terra defeat them! Unpatriotic bastids every last one of them! Look how many Americans have died in the past 200 years to uphold our civil liberties and now these no good yellow bastids want to just throw it all that away! People who think like that are my enemies too! I despise the cowards almost as much as I despise the terrorists!

Seriously its not a matter of why bother or they've already won to me.

Its a matter of abusing freedom and liberty in the name of hegemonic conquest. Im disgusted not only with this admin but this country and even many who would call themselves progressives that support this kind of shit.

If the election fraud problems are not corrected than there is no fucking hope at all, and with how election fraud activists get treated even here on DU time to time, I am fast running out of hope that this country will be nothing but fascist cesspool after 06.
