"KARL ROVE!"
were the last words from the press briefing, shouted by reporters as Scotty McZeigler was walking away.

3. I liked that part :-)
Anyone else think that the press is just going to explode by next week? Their questioning is getting more brutal every day.

Maybe Big Jeff can relieve his tensions tonight.

6. Here's the "play-by-play"...
...but it was nothing compared to Monday and Tuesday. Lost of "plants" and softball questions on how Scotty feels about hurting innocent Iraqi kids.

And a positive sign.
I don't think the press is going to let up on this.
I'd LOVE to see a Helen Thomas /Snotty Scotty exclusive.
If Helen was allowed TEN minutes with Snotty,
she would THRASH him.
Isn't that a lovely fantasy?

16. They are happy we are focusing on Rove, it diverts us from Bush/Cheney.
Edited on Wed Jul-13-05 12:32 PM by Baconfoot
Every time we say "Rove Rove Rove" I bet they are saying "Yeeeeeesssss. Look at the ball at the end of the string oh my kitten. See how it moves around on its own. Pay no attention to that 2xx lb poor excuse for a primate attached to the other end."

Poor on defense? Ha. As soon as we start thinking something like that, we should start thinking that we are WRONG about WHAT IT IS that they are defending. They are protecting "the flag" as a Stratego fan might say - in this case the Presidency of GWB.

We all guess, and I think it's a good guess, that this is bigger than Rove.

At the very least, Bush is protecting a traitor. Off with his crown I say.

We SHOULDN'T be waiting to see the end of Bush's reign in 2008. It says right there on that piece of paper that congress "SHALL" impeach that SOB, not that they shall consider whether or not it's politically expedient. It "SHALL" remove him from office. It's one of the few COMMANDS in the constitution. It doesn't have the status of merely granting permission.

20. Exactly! Rove was only doing what they all had decided to do.
It's a conspiracy and if you nail one of them you open the door to the rest. I seriously doubt that Bush and the gang are yucking it up over Rove's troubles.

19. Yeah, no sense laying any groundwork
Go straight for impeachment in this highly partisan political climate. Then, when it fails, Bush is bullet-proof through the end of his term. No thanks.

The Rove Affair is a necessary prequisite to make impeachment a political possibility. There is no way the Republican majorities in Congress are going to impeach Bush unless popular sentiment is way out in front of them, and further disregard of the call for impeachment risks their own political careers. As it is, elected Republicans can still maintain their loyalty to the corrupt Bush administration without paying any price at the ballot box. Once they are in peril, they may be more inclined to fulfill their constitutional duties.
