11. I agree
I was listening to the report earlier on NBC and they were saying they had a bad feeling and I think you should always follow your "gut" instincts. I'm glad they're not taking any chances. I'd rather put things off and be safe then sorry.

14. Exactly. "Scrub the launch" should be the DEFAULT, not the exception
If we're going to spend billions on vehicles and training for orbital missions, I want that money spent on operations, not disaster investigations.

6. I was hoping for it to happen
I'm a huge fan of the shuttle program. I do wish there was more exploration going on.

7. There is talk in the space.com forums...
that there are no spare sensors laying around. This could mean missing the July launch window and the launch will have to be put off until September.

... I'm done with NASA. I have no faith in them whatsoever. It is now run by the same kind of short-sighted pseudo-managers that are ruining America's industry.

I stood outside and watched the debris cross the sky a couple Febs ago. You'd think that after the disastrously bad decision to launch Challenger, the beginning of the end of our space program, things would be different at NASA.

But they aren't. It isn't run by scientists, it's run by rah-rah cheerleader managers. They've successfully killed any chance for the US to have the lead in space in 10-20 years.

on edit: the Shuttle is the model-T of space. It is a Yugo covered with poorly glued tiles. It should have been retired a decade ago.
