1. Yep. Just heard it on CNN.
They mentioned something about him having a feaver. Said they saw some people taking some clothes and his cane out of his house, but that's about it.

2. Well, that will take care of the Rove/CIA cover blower thing
Two SC justice appointees at one time!

This country is going to be torn apart.

3. It's already being torn apart.

I heard Ashcroft was spotted at the Black Robe Emporium looking for the right size.

:sarcasm:

4. Look What It's Doing To The GOOP
Right now I'd wish for 1000 SCOTUS openings. The Repugnicans can't come up with one candidate they all can agree on. Two? Get the popcorn

While many of us were in a frenzy about Rove, the right wing is beating itself up over Gonzalez...the fundies vs. the "party regulars"...the corporates who want a toadie on the court, since most of their rulings are in business rather than social cases.

Remember, when Renqhuist goes, this is a push for their side. Unless there's a David Souter lying around (wouldn't that be the ultimate irony) expect this right wing seat to be replaced with another...and to be honest, short of Roy Moore, I can't think of anyone further to the right than Rehnquist is/was...even Scalia.

With the Rove mess, wheels falling off in Iraq, Immigration (that's still a VERY BIG issue in Red States) and the other messes this regime is trying to fight right now, they have neither the strength or the capital for a big fight. But they'll be stupid and do it anyway.

That's fine. This fall isn't going to be pretty, but it sure will be vindicating.

Cheers

6. Never thought I would be wishing
he would hang on just a little bit longer. I would love to see some indictments before bush got a chance on supreme court candidates.
