9. No real UK equivalent that I know of
The Guardian runs forums, but they are open to allcomers.

It may be just as well - can you imagine trying to run Democratic Underground with Joe Lieberman as president? There'd be a constant argument if you should be damning the leader, or praising him. (Well, maybe not - none of the UK DUers has many compliments for Blair).
