Anyone looking for French cuisine at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill at Harrah's Las Vegas, 3475 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is either crazy or a stand-up comedian.

"It's American, Midwestern type of food, with large, large portions," says Shawn Ritchie, Harrah's vice president of food and beverage.

Keith, the country singer known for his robust patriotism and 16 No. 1 hits on the country charts, approved all the items on the menu. Of course, the french fries are called Freedom Fries in Keith's place...

"There are four or five items on the menu that Toby insisted on having," says Harrah's executive chef Tim Bowen. Namely, the fried bologna sandwich, the fried okra, turnip greens, chicken fried steak sandwich and Head barbecue sauce, "which is his favorite since childhood," says Bowen, who keeps an eye on the menu along with specialty room chef Matthew Jones.

Don't get me wrong - I myself enjoy gambling. But jeez folks, between the smoking, drinking and non-stop eating, I can hardly make my way through the bellies to a blackjack table. Instead of dealing 8 hands, the dealer can only deal 4 because it takes that much room to seat some of these people.

When I saw it on the menu I had to be talked out of making a scene. I refused to eat there that day and haven't been back since. I've been told it's since gone back to french fries but I haven't returned.
