Most chilling things you've heard everyday reich-wingers say?
Edited on Wed Jul-13-05 05:03 PM by Bouncy Ball
Here are mine:

1. "I don't care if Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. Attacking them still made me feel better about it. It was revenge, anyway."

2. "Peace is overrated." (said by a Methodist minister--I checked when he said it--he was not joking)

3. "The Constitution is irrelevant, might as well let it die."

4. "Why CAN'T we take guns into schools, churches and hospitals? We ought to be able to!" (said by a supporter of a very reich-wing state candidate in the last election)

5. "If Iraqi children have been killed, oh well. That's war. Shouldn't have been born Iraqi." (guy at local get-together...he then laughed and mussed his young son's hair)

6. "Just nuke the whole Middle East into a big shard of glass. Who needs them anyway?" (said by my mother in law in an email before the war)

7. "Fuck the poor. The poor never did anything for me." (said by a guy who has never known economic hardship, in fact, has been well-off since birth)

8. "I love those Mexicans. They do a hell of a job on remodeling, mowing the lawn, everything. But I do need an English to Spanish dictionary to even talk to them and that's annoying as hell. But at least we don't have to pay them much!" (woman friend of a friend who then laughed a lot)

9. "It says in Judges (a book in the Bible)that Christians have a DUTY to judge others!" (said by same guy who said #4--I told him Judges is in the OT, how can it be telling CHRISTIANS anything and it doesn't tell people to judge, it's called that because it was written by judges...)

10. "CEOs aren't paid enough. How can anyone say what they are worth? It's a hell of a lot more than the guy working on the assembly line!" (said by a woman who is clearly insane and a glutton for punishment as she is NOT a CEO or anything close to it)

So what are yours? (By the way, I don't hang out with people I know to be so fucked in the head anymore. I'm sure anyone can see why.)

5. This was in regards to a boy being raped and sodomized by a clasmate
"That's what happens when there is no prayer in school"

She said it and I liked to have died.

Another instance was when a transvestite was brutally beaten. A straight guy made a pass and when he discovered it was a man he beat the hell out of the poor guy. She thought he deserved it.

7. Mine was an action rather than a statement.
A RW co-worker mimed shooting my life-size Hillary cutout to death with some kind of machine gun, in my office, in front of his young daughter.

"THAT'S how we handle people we disagree with!" Some lesson.

Does this guy know that the judges in Judges were not dignified old guys in black robes with a head full of legal knowledge? They were murderous, maniacal guys like Samson. This is a good thing?

21. I was floored when that was said to me
I just stood there, too dumb-founded to do more than blink. Sometimes, people say something so ignorant your entire body freezes in self-defense.

For people to think so little of themselves and their worth. To be so brainwashed into believing that you somehow deserve less because you're the worker and not the owner...unreal.

20. My mother-in-law scared me w/ a combination of ignorance & hatred...
when after the tsunami after Christmas we were talking & I told her there had been a catastrophic earthquake in Iran about a year prior to that in which huge amounts of people had been killed as well. She responded,

"Good, that's more of them our boys don't have to go over there and kill."

Iranians, not Iraqis. She can't even keep her jingoistic hatred straight! And, no, she wasn't anticipating the war bushco is pushing against Iran, she just is completely lost as to what's going on in the world, but is happy to hate whoever she is pointed toward. ahhhh, just had to vent.

23. "You need to watch Sean Hannity" ......
This woman looked me up and down and was aghast that I had a "Kerry/Edwards" bumper sticker on my car because I looked so "normal" to her and then she looked out over my garden intently - No lie, I think she was looking for pot! LOL

She now calls me her "liberal friend" and she had a one-liner Letter to the Editor - it said "I'm with Michael Savage, liberals are insane" or something like that (may have been a different name other than "insane" but meaning crazy all the same).

I did respond to the Letter to the Editor with my own Letter asking why she didn't discuss issues rather than just name call as if on the playground. I went on to list several issues of the day that could be discussed to make the "conversation" more productive. She never responded back!

It's just a simple case of brainwashing, imo.

31. That thing on the Statue of Liberty -
that thing that says "Give me your tired, your poor.." - was stuck on there by the French when they made the statue. We left it there as a courtesy. Has nothing to do with America. (my boss)

Those "dead Iraqi civilians" numbers are meaningless, because once you start fighting (even if only in self-defense), you are no longer a civilian. (my boss)

... plus every dead Muslim is one more who won't fly a plane into a building! (boss again)

custody (disgusting, off-color), after he announced in the thread that he turned my name in to the Secret Service (for a comment on the CLG board).

Another Freeper sent me an email, lamenting I didn't meet up with the rapists and murderers in the 'Old Iraq.' We reminded him that the 'Rape Rooms' are under new management (DUer's advice on the reply).

I want to know why we can't state would should happen to ***them*** after their treason trials?

Nationally, in early July of this year, Reichwing radio whackjob Steve Malzberg (on MSNBC's 'Connected'), essentially said that Joseph Wilson was responsible for revealing his wife's covert role in the CIA.

"When the troops get back from Iraq, they should round up the people like you and shoot you."

I'd never met the guy before, and nobody was talking politics at the time. It just came out of the blue. Very angry and bizarre guy, in retrospect.
