The French get revenge
Just a little background: I'm not mad at the French like the NeoCons and their lemmings are for being against the war in Iraq, although I feel they were a bit arrogant about it.

That said, they now have their own set of playing cards:

In French Deck, Bush Is King of Diamonds
Thu Sep 25, 8:57 PM ET

PARIS - The ace of spades? Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld gets the honor in a new French deck of cards. President Bush (news - web sites) is the king of diamonds and Osama bin Laden (news - web sites) the joker. The game takes a jab at the famous deck of cards created for U.S. soldiers hunting down ousted Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) and other leaders from the deposed regime.

"I found it completely indecent to present a manhunt as a game," said Thierry Meyssan, the man behind the French deck. "We thought this card game would allow us to ... explain why we consider the government of George Bush a threat to international security."

Meyssan is the author of a one-time French best seller, "9-11: The Big Lie," claiming that no plane ever crashed into the Pentagon (news - web sites) on Sept. 11, and that the attacks were plotted by a faction within the U.S. military.

Now, Meyssan said in a telephone interview, he wants to expose "the 52 most dangerous American officials."

6. the oridinal concept of the cards is valid
if yo have a great number of people who you are needing to take into custody, it's a good way to imprint their faces on the people who will be looking for them. however, when they went on sale to the general ppublic and the concept got perverted by listing politicians on them, well that's pretty sick, imho

2. Damn Straight
This is great. I'm so sick of those decks. I mean there is about 5 or so of them, and other than the Iraqi deck, they are all anti liberal. It's a slash and burn mentality, so it's nice to see someone fighting back.

I also like your criticism of the arrogance of the French. I guess it's ok for the US to think highly of itself, but those stupid frogs don't have that right? Is that the way you think?

3. Really bad to do this. I think they all were wrong.
You do not make a joke out of killing people.

4. I just feel they were too 'in you face' about it
But I think the Bush Administration was even more embarrassing about the war.

Remember: Two wrongs don't make a right.

Just so you know, I have not boycotted any 'French' products, and I cringe when anyone else does. French fries are still french fries in my book.

5. YaY for the French
Freedom fries. I hate Republicans! How dare Bush to allow his fans to make fun of the French. The French knew what was really going on. They were smart. They didn't want to get involved in Bushes killing spree. They had morals.

8. The only thing the French did that I disliked
The French pre-empted a debate on the issue. The Chinese and Russians would also have used their vetoes, but the French announcement beforehand cut off a debate which might have been VERY illuminating (and embarrassing) regarding BushCo's 'rationale' for the invasion.

9. What's really funny is what it says.
Especially this section "appointed president of the USA by his father's friends on the Supreme Court."

10. God I wish I could move to France. Where people are "normal"
and not "podpeople." Wouldn't it be great to wake up, pick up the paper and see them actually telling the truth? To go out on the street and see "Hitler/Bush" posters, to go in the store and see a "Deck of Weasels" with Rumsfeld and Bush in it instead of Hillary and Michael Moore. It would be heaven....

Maybe I can move to the Netherlands where my relatives are. If Bush is re-selected I may make plans to do so.

11. This is an old story, isn't it?
I thought these cards were out in the US a long time ago. I wonder why the media is trying to turn it into a French and Russian thing? Transparent.
