That lying, weasely,POS Mc Clellan is the Flag Ship for the BFEE!
Edited on Wed Jul-13-05 06:29 PM by KoKo01
He and his brother at the FDA and his Mommy running for Governor of Texas and the rest of the "lying crowd" like the PNAC/NeoCons Ledeen and the rest who gave their "Ivy League" children the "Run of Iraq" to set up Stock Markets and reap the "gravy train" that were OUR TAX Dollars" that was spent to "fight terrorism."

The blood of America's Sons and Daughters is once agains spent for the advantage of the "Privileged over the Ordinary Middle Class." (Vietnam, in case anyone cares to remember.) And, that the NeoCon/Pnac'ers could do this in such a short time span with Baby Boomers (who remember Vietnam debaucle) watching it all go down makes it all the more dispicable. Those Boomers who protested and are here on the Web like me and others can take a pass...but what about the Boomers who aren't and whose kids don't give a shit about what's going on out there.

What did we do wrong? Did we not have enough kids (many Boomers were into ZERO Population Growth because of environmental concerns) but is that the total reason? Were we too tough on our kids so that they saw our "liberal ideas" as indoctrination and they rebelled and went "Fundie?"

What the hell happened here? What caused this Crash Up?

ON EDIT: My hubby and I were at Yale when Bush and the rest of those Crime Family members were there. Hubby was scholarship Med Student and I worked as Editorial Assistant for a Medical Journal at Yale. I'm only saying this because we had no idea that the whole Crime Family in the US in Politics was walking around us on the Yale Campus (and even Bill and Hillary Clinton) when we were there. We are horrified... and I wonder how many other "scholarship students" are out there who were there then who want their "privileged asses in a sling." Lyndon Johnson's programs to fund those with "Student Loan Grants" allowed hubby to attend Medical School there. A Democratic Program that that POS BUSH and his Repug/NeoCon/PNAC buddies want to get rid of so that only the "very elite" of "THEIR CROWD" will be able to get into the tops schools in the US.. :puke:

1. Honestly, I truly do believe Americans made the mistake,....
,...of putting too much faith in their government and took for granted that their government would act in their best interests. It's a damn shame that Americans CAN'T trust their government to act in their best interest.

4. Yes...there's that. But, we thought when we went to the polls
our vote mattered. We didn't foresee a time of corrupt voting machines and apathy by the average American when our country was in peril.

That the "mainstream" Americans didn't see our country was in peril means that our whole sytem of schools, legislators and community let us down in a way that I find hard to understand. And, I've yet to see anyone really address this in a way that some of us who lived through it can really understand.

2. religion, and this ISNT christian bashing
Edited on Wed Jul-13-05 06:32 PM by seabeyond
i am christian hear me roar. it was religion. people started walking away from christianity, (or noise of it) in 60's. by 90's people were feeling empty spiritually along with all the extremism in so many of our social areas (me, me, me of reaGAN WASNT FULFILLING). about that time you had the right hook up with religion. religion started making a come back in the 90's and was ok, but then repugs took it and ran. they used the fundies. the fundies and catholics used the platform to shift the general public on certain issues. until the culted (brainwashed) sheepified them into where we are today.

people are trying to go back to the lord, in such a retarded manner

my kids on the other hand will no way end up repug, i assure you all. and this is sittin in the middle of panhandle of texas, huge religous belt, full of baptists. catholic org coming to town that did schiavo. my kids are well aware of manipulation of religion that is instead of bringing to the lord is taking the sheep on a path away from christs words

3. seabeyond...your post probably deserves space of it's own...

I think you make a really good point. And, I say this as a person who has been searching for a church that spoke to the "ISSUES" and I won't go to a fundie one. Our mainstream Churches left us hanging in the wind...to find other resources because they weren't addressing what many spiritually needed to reaffirm our faith. The "fundies" jumped right in and gave a simple message plus a "community" in these times of a mobile society. They filled a huge void left by our mainstream Protestant Religons and even the Catholics who didn't go along with the whole "birth control, thing." The void shaped our politics.

We are all the worse for it...but, as I said ...your post could stand on it's own. So many reasons that we've ended up where we are but we have only TWO Think Tanks and they are run by the Democratic ELITES...and not us here "scrabbling here" on Democratic Underground trying to find answers to how we went so wrong in such a short time span." :-( It's so distressing...
