The Repukes just never give ground. Don't you wish the Democrats did the same?

7. The Democrats don't seem to get....
that they need a whole "fight back and WIN" agenda: talking points,
coordinated responses to all Republican attacks, etc. Basically, they
need a whole group doing nothing but these things and more, and
doing it aggressively.

5. That Comment Includes MANY Vocal DU'ers Who Did Next To Nothing
to support Durbin after he made his statement and then shit all over him when he issued a formal statement of regret.

8. No, I don't wish the Dems would use the same tactis as repubs
Remember, the repubs are LYING about someone who they know is GUILTY. If they had any honor, they'd live up to their promise, and "fire the leaker." But they don't, and they won't.

I'd prefer the Dems fight their battles differently. Fight like hell, but don't embarrass us by LYING.

10.  They don't have to lie. But they do have to stand up!

Sen. Durbin told the truth. The other Dems should have had the guts to do the same.

9. It's the nature of how we think
It may seem like the Republicans have the upper hand right now, but they in their hubris will sink themselves.

The Republicans actually are pretty crummy in a war, ultimately those qualities that make Democrats what they are, make for a much more powerful fighter, when it counts. How many wars have the Democrats had to fight and win. Compare that to the Republicans. It is they that are the losers. It is the ability to submerge our own self-interest to the interests of the whole that wins wars.

We perceive the Republicans as a united force, perhaps a 'team' thats unstoppable. Well, they are far from united (except on the surface), they are not a team and they will prove to be stoppable.

It takes a quality called altruism to form oneself into a team, this is what we have and they don't. As soon as it gets hot, they will jump ship and abandon each other, you'll see.

What they do have is organization. Don't underestimate that quality. But I wouldn't trade altruism for organization any day. We will win. You'll see.

12. What was to defend?
He was a pissy, whiney, sniveling little snark of a fuck up when he rolled over on his tummy and begged the mean old republicans to forgive him for telling the truth.

The thing about Democrats....that I like.....is that we aren't Brown shirt storm troopers defendint the Darwin Award cretins in our midst...at least I'm not

13. Reagan got one thing right: never speak ill of a fellow Republican.
So you don't agree with Durbin 10000%? Tough shit. We should have defended him to the death. Reagan was right, but the Dems will never get the message. If we want to win, we have got to hang together, or we will all surely hang separately.

I will say this, however: idiots like Mehlman have looked pathetic with their "he didn't reveal a NAME" and "he was trying to prevent the reporter from running an inaccurate story" defenses! So pathetic that surely even the barely-aware public can see it.

14. reality, dems wouldnt be clobbered if they went on hardball and
spoke the truth about what durbin said, merely by giving the whole quote instead of what media and repugs fed........let alone if the dems were telling a bunch of lies to defend durbin. they would be crucified. the media wouldnt sit back and just allow the dems to go on and on and on with lies.

reality here
