The Truth About Hillary (Must-Read Review)
Posted on Wed, Jul. 13, 2005

The vicious treatment of females who speak their minds is a product of fear and ignorance

BY KAREN HELLER

Knight Ridder Newspapers

(KRT) - Recently, I'm sorry to report, I had to spend a beautiful Saturday with Edward Klein's ``The Truth About Hillary,'' which is certainly something, but the truth about Sen. Clinton it is not.

This is one of those books of which one is given to saying "they would have to pay me to read this" - which, as a matter of fact, they did.

The book says far more about the author, and its targeted readership, than its subject, casting aspersions about her sexuality that seem repressively 19th century. She's smart, ambitious, likes the company of other bright women; why, let's suggest she has sapphic tendencies and an inability to mother...

1. You mean "Ms. 66%'er"? (She only votes with the Dems 66% of the time.)

4. Do you have a link for that?

I seriously doubt that. Sounds like crap to me.

BTW, this review is good; thanks to XanaDUer for posting it.

9. It's based on 17 votes!
Talk about misleading; an examination of her entire voting record this year would be much fairer.

13. So do a bunch of other Dems
We don't have enough troops there; that's just one of a long list of unforgiveable decisions made by this corrupt, incompetent WH.

15. I disagree with her on that but ...
I understand where she's coming from. I do not know if she has not truly considered the wisdom of just checking out or she has and rejected it for some reason.

12. The best way to judge is through ...
the VoteSmart Project. It is very complete. The section I am linking to is one I find particularly useful, how a pol is viewed by ALL of the interest groups who rate legislators. Hillary and I, judging from who likes her and who hates her, are on the same side. Her enemies are generally mine and her friends are generally my friends as well. Judge for yourself. BTW, you can peruse many other things including ALL of her votes.

A few highlights ... choice advocates, labor, teachers, animal rights groups, environmentalists like her quite a bit. The Eagle Foundation does not like her at all.

21. Or, "The Failed insurgency" Hillary. Or, the one who voted for the war.
Or, the one that wants to reach out to the pro-preggers.

That one?

3. I'm a female and I speak my mind.
And my mind says she won't win the presidency. Dems wake up and give us red-staters something to turn our states blue with!

5. Consistently, Knight-Ridder has shown itself immune from RW's influence
They, by far, have the most integrity and credibility in MSM.

I wish that more of the media follow their lead.

6. Nice review
"Well behaved women rarely make history."

And Hillary has already made history - first former First Lady to be elected to the Senate. Coulter, I suspect, won't.

19. Live here by choice
And love it - even with the hurricanes. Miami, now that's a different story - hate it. Rarely go down to Miami-Dade county. Used to go down to Coconut Grove on week-ends (years ago) but now it's dominated by "Designer Boutiques" and has lost all of its charm.

:hi: Back at cha.

Now she wants to send more troops to Iraq to kill people.
