My 76 year old Dad thinks Bush or Cheney leaked to Miller
Edited on Thu Jul-14-05 02:15 AM by Quixote1818
My Dad was someone gutsy enough to write letters to the editor attacking McCarthy during the McCarthy era and had a campaign sign in his front yard for McGovern that said "Get the crooks out of the Whitehouse". He took slack from fellow co-workers for his Anti McCarthy letters because they were afraid he would cause the Chemistry Department (where he worked)to be watched by the Government. He also wrote a letter to Bush leading up to the Iraq War that basically predicted exactly what is happening now.

Anyway, we just talked on the phone and he feels pretty strongly that who ever leaked to Miller was higher up than Rove and someone they absolutely could not sacrifice. His gut feeling was Bush but he thinks it could be Cheney or at least someone above Rove.

I hope you dad is right!
Especially about his gut feeling. And I hope Fitzgerald (love that name) is going to prove it!

3. I think Miller is trying to protect Cheney as well
Cheney was in the know. Cheney was one of the minds in the circle of trust. I think they have all been aware of this the whole time.

6. That would explain Cooper and Miller, and why Rove allowed his outing
I said before that Rove is falling on his sword for someone else. If Miller's source was Bush or Cheney, then the dramatic reversal of Cooper's fate at the last second, and the subsequent leak of Rove's name, was all a diversion to make people look away from Miller. Sure, everyone wants to know why Rove cleared Cooper but not her, but everyone still assumes she was protecting Rove.

She's protecting Bush, and Rove is a distraction from the real story. That makes the most sense. Your dad is genius, and sounds damned cool, too.

10. That is interesting
And remember the smile she had when she was off to jail. It was like she had some really good sex or something. Know what I mean? So I don't get it either. I still think if Rove went down he might just let Miller reveal her person and everything. That's why I think Bush isn't doing anything about this. Why did Bush appoint a prosecutor though? Maybe they didn't know what they were going to get themselves into because Fitzegerald is friends with someone who is in the Bush camp and they thought because Fitzegerald is a republican he would go easy on them. Lucky for us he's not.

8. Quixote1818, tell your father...
...autorank thinks that :yourock:

This is actually quite sensible. Miller was the handmaiden of the WMD story. She did it with the "favorite" source of the WH and Pentagon, Chalabi, and she had full access to everything after the war was over. I read a story about her bossing officers around in her search for WMD. It was a credible source, don't recall it now. Apparently, the officers were hugely pissed off. What goes around comes around.

Your father is cool!

9. He should see your post because I sent him this link.
He will appreciate the warmth. He is Humanist described by many as the most Christ like person they know.

Thanks for your kind words Autorank
