Yes, Clark has known the 'PNACers'--a case of guilt by association?
and has worked for think tanks that make recommendations to various administrations.
A think tank he works with advised the president to stay committed to iraq, provide security and not to 'cut and run' in making sure the job was done several months ago.
He said he was a colleague of several Neo-Cons, and that he felt they were ok guys. He never said he agreed with them. He was a general and many of them have worked in the defense department. Heck, he might have even drank a few beers with them!
Lets face it. It is hard to be a major NATO commander and not deal with these people. Lets face it, along with general Zinni, he has worked with the Washington think Tanks.
He said he voted for reagan once. So did my mom. So did most of the voters.

All of the evidence that he is part of some PNAC cable, unfortunatly, turns up nothing.

Unless you count guilt by association.

becomes an asset to us

" I WENT BACK through the Pentagon in November 2001, and one of
the senior military staff officers had time for a chat. Yes, we were
still on track for going against Iraq, he said. But there was more. This
was being discussed as part of a five-year campaign plan, he said, and
there were a total of seven countries, beginning with Iraq, then Syria,
Lebanon, Libya, Iran, Somalia, and Sudan. So, I thought, this is what
they mean when they talk about “draining the swamp.” It was evidence of
the Cold War approach: Terrorism must have a “state sponsor,” and it
would be much more effective to attack a state than to chase after
individuals, nebulous organizations, and shadowy associations.

4. Sorta like saying
Some of my best friends are Nazis and I occupy a major position on the boards of their clubs, but let's sweep that all under the carpet and compare Dean to Gingrich.

This is about the Democratic nominee for the presidency, so what if he is a major player as long as he tells us he is on our side and says the right things when he can figure them out.

LOL

Clark's a great guy, and I'm glad he is on our team and not theirs, but that was pretty funny! :+

13. well
have you ever read about what the Nazis did? between 30 million and 40 million people were killed, whole countries were destroyed, tens of millions of refugees were created, economies devestated, millions used for slave labor in inhuman conditions (including my grandparents), millions more left to die in nightmarish prison camps.

I am sorry if I think they were a whole lot worse than the Neo-Cons.

14. An invalid way of drawing the comparison, missing the entire point...
between 30 million and 40 million people were killed...
- You cite numbers reflecting totals after 6 years of open world war. Right now, the more apt comparison might be to 1940, not 1945. The total number killed were only maybe ten thousand, at that time. Looking at that situation your way, that would mean that the Nazis weren't really all that bad, in 1940. :eyes:

whole countries were destroyed...economies devastated...
- You mean, sort of like Afghanistan and Iraq?

I know you don't get this kind of perspective when you read your beloved Jonah Goldberg articles, but the Neo-cons bear some striking resemblance to Nazis, in terms of aggression, propaganda techniques, & generation of the Big Lie. They even share philosophical roots, by way of Leo Strauss.

5. Clark undoubtedly helped the BFEE kill Wellstone,
all the Kennedys, Martin Luther King,
Bob Marley and Katherine Hepburn.

He's been known to have conversations with PNACers and
Skull and Boners.

And when was the last time he had a raving, foaming at the mouth
hissy fit about the military-industrial complex?

And he helped Karl Rove crash the space shuttle and rig
all the voting machines.

And if you don't believe this you're obviously on the Rove payroll.

8. he doesn't just know them; he likes them and is not critical of them
that's at least suspicious, but not simply by association.
