Does CSPAN cover the daily White House press corps briefings?

My TimeWarner cable TV guide is not very specific about CSPAN's content... and I do not wish to miss Scott McClellan getting grilled again.

3. If Time Is Open

CSpan 1 covers the House of Representatives and will continue to cover the House anytime they are in session. CSpan2 covers the Senate in the same way. CSpan 3 covers everything else, but on a schedule. If there is a hole in CSpan's regular coverage they will show a press briefing live, but it will always be shown later the same day after sessions have ended, usually around 9:00 PM Eastern and then again sometime near midnight.

I should have said what I meant by having a hole in time in which to show a briefing. If the House or Senate is in recess there is a hole, if there is a vote going on there is a hole, and I suppose if they evacuated the building for whatever reason there would be a hold in the coverage. Basically CSpan sticks to script though and will follow its subject anytime they are in session. The White House link works OK but on days of heavy use it can skip badly, even with a fast connection.

The thing to understand with the White House link is this, it isn't posted until just a minute or two before the briefing begins. If you go to the White House site ( www.whitehouse.gov ) there will be a notice that its comming and then with just a minute or two to go they update the site and add a link to watch it. Before that time there will be no link.

7. If The House Is In Session It Can Be Delayed

CSPAN1's main purpose for being is live coverage of the House. CSPAN2 does the same for the Senate. This means that anytime either body is in session, CSPAN will drop whatever they're doing to cover whatever is or isn't going on live.

Washington Journal viewers constantly see the program end early when there's some special session of the House. Usually Snotty's gaggle falls during the House lunch break (around 12:30) and CSPAN-1 carries it. In the event there's a floor debate going on, they'll move it over to CSPAN-2 (if there's no Senate action going on) or record it and play it later. Sometimes, if there's a floor vote happening, they'll flip back and forth between the gaggle and the floor vote.

I have been noticing they've been reruning the gaggle each afternoon around 3:00...immediately after the House gavels out...that's probably the best time to catch it and know it'll be there.
