7. Pacifica IS Progressive Radio...

The marvel of my Studio link internet radio is I can pop on the Pacifica stations...KFPA, KFPK and WBAI. They're still true to the principals of open access to the airwaves and give voice to a wide range of alternative voices.

I prefer to listen to Pacifica over NPR and even AAR. I always wished they had built a station in Chicago.

The Pacifica network not only defines progressive radio, it was the original public radio. And it remains truly independent - despite many attempts over the years to control it from the outside (and much resultant internal squabbling) Pacifica has managed to retain some real independence. The best source of independent, left-of-the dial investigative reporting out there. Most of the programs are independently produced by the programmers.

I've been listening to KPFK Los Angeles since I was in college and cherish it.

16. It depends...

It depends on the host, and it depends on the programming. I used to volunteer at WBAI (the NYC Pacifica station). Keep in mind that all the stations also use independently-produced material, not just their own. That adds another variable.

Some things were solid, some things were a bit out on a limb, sometimes, things were just wrong. You can't judge just by the station, you have to get a feel for how reliable the different people involved are.

I will now try to give the House as much information as I can. Some of it is already well-known. There were four explosions. Three took place on underground trains - one between Aldgate East and Liverpool Street; one between Russell Square and Kings Cross; one in a train at Edgware Road station. All of these took place within 50 seconds of each other at 8.50 a.m.

The other explosion was on the No.30 bus at Upper Woburn Place at 9.47 a.m.

The timing of the Tube explosions was designed to be at the peak of the rush hour and thus to cause maximum death and injury.
