Don't you find it odd that "Divine Intervention" has been replaced with a more scientific term just to manipulate a blatantly religious agenda?

Truth without evidence or presented with manipulated evidence is tantamount to deceit.

de·ceive
v. de·ceived, de·ceiv·ing, de·ceives
v. tr.
To cause to believe what is not true; mislead.
Archaic. To catch by guile; ensnare.

v. intr.
To practice deceit.
To give a false impression: appearances can deceive.

God back to church and pray for your soul.

2. I like its initials
ID.

Definition: The Id represented primary process thinking – our most primitive need gratification type thoughts. The Id, Freud stated, constitutes part of one's unconscious mind. It is organized around primitive instinctual urges of sexuality, aggression and the desire for instant gratification or release.

Any questions?

3. Yeah, ID is just a workaround for Creationism
Sadly, given the sorry state of most citizens understanding of the scientific method, ID is flying awfully far on thin wings.

Here's a question - why is ID (and Creationism) taking over scientific content in schools around the U.S.? I mean - why is it succeeding? It's always been around, but only succeeding in replacing science only recently.

4. but,
isn't the flat earth 6,000 years old?
I swear I saw it in writing.

The reason for its success is easy. Moderates and liberals got lazy. The Religious bigots on the right managed to start off in texas with control over school texts, then they began to set their aim on school districts and more. We let them do it.

The biggest problem is that we are creating a whole generation of scientific illiterates.
When the pope decides to reject evolution and replace it with a form of creationism, and then he complains that Harry Potter warps the minds of children, he conveniently forgets that the minds he wishes to brainwash - never mind.

Religion is not the problem. It is a small segment of power hungry and illiterate people who believe in the complete inerrancy of the bible that is the problem.

5. ID is just the creationists' trying to work evolution of some sort into
their story. They do this sort of thing all the time, the RW Xians. Decry romance novels.. then come out with Xian romances. Decry heavy metal.. then come out with Xian heavey metal. Heck, they even have Xian cheerleading now!

13. Pious Christian porn?
What would that consist of? Women lifting their ankle length skirts to mid calf to woo their gentlemen callers? Perhaps exposing their collarbones--the tramps!:o Then they'd get down and dirty by holding hands and playing footsie! Oh my eyes!!!

12. Which Also Means
that they are beginning to recognize that Evolution is "real",
and is not going to go away as theory or reality, so...
You are correct, they are going to make it fit their belief system.
They have to admit evolution is real, but "cover their ass'"by claiming Evolution is God's Intelligent Design at work and it's only been going on for 6,000+/- years.

Truth is, they are right & wrong. Correct in as much as evolution
has an intelligent consciousness behind it and wrong in the fact that it is only 6000 years old. 6000 billion to the google factor ( a 1 with a thousand zeros) It's not jusy a search engine.

From an article:
Messenger of the Kosmos, by A. V. Ashok ( 2 year old link no longer works, sorry )

"From the Big Bang (15 billion years ago) "which was really the roaring laughter of God voluntarily getting lost for the millionth time" through prepersonal "Eden" and personal Ego to transpersonal/nondual Enlightenment, evolution is for Wilber a lila ('Cosmic Play') of the "unfolding" of "Spirit" through "increasingly more conscious forms of Spirit's own self actualization and return to itself." Evolution is "Spirit-in-action" or "God in the making." In the beginning, Spirit in sport "forgets itself and empties itself into creation."

Sounds like "Evolution" to me!

Quite simply; Spirit (God) didn't just create the Universe, but actually IS the Universe. Every physical bit, from sub-atomic particles to galaxies, is Spirit manifest as matter. Evolution is
is the process by which Spirit experiences itself in a never ending cycle of "loss" and "rediscovery". If each cycle take 100 billion years, so what? What else does Spirit (God) have to do with endless time and space???

What would you do?

7. Two missionaries just knocked on my door
and, my three year old, came running and said the "dictionaries" were here. I turned them away, and told them that I was sorry that they had to be out in the heat. One of them said, "ma'am, it can get a whole lot hotter."

What a bunch of idiots. And I told them that I didn't believe in an anthropomorphized God -- and they said, "we don't, either." Apparently, they believe in "physical hell," though.

The fact that people would drag this hoke into our government, or try to force it on others is a j-o-k-e.

15. Intelligent Design doesn't mean proof of God
Even if we grant that ID appears likely, that doesn't mean that Joe Kansas Holy-roller is right about God, evolution, or anything else. The problem with ID is that Yahoos use it to bolster their own version of God.

The fact that tomatoes exist doesn't justify someone selling a dirt clod and calling it a tomato.

preclude placing the elimination system so close to the reproductive system!
