Anyone been to the Netherlands?
Were the people nice there? Was the environment friendly?

I'm just wondering if Goldberg's claim that "crassness" (according to him) affects a culture negatively has any validity whatsoever.

2. Years ago.
I wasn't there long, but I liked what I did see (Amsterdam). The people were nice and the red light district was... interesting.

4. I've been there several times and will be back there this Oct
I have friends and business there. They are extraordinarily nice people.

But then, I can say that of most Europeans I've met everywhere.

6. The Netherlands is a wonderful country...
People are very friendly, are multi-lingual as befits a mercantile country, smart and well-educated, polite, the food and beverages are the equal of any worldwide.

A very stable society. All citizens are entitled to a place to live, help with food, education, medical care and so much more.

5. I haven't but have a friend
who spent two weeks there are wants desparately to go back. She is a workaholic and had an epiphany there. She said she saw that there is more to life than working frantically and people in the Netherlands have their priorities right.

8. From the look of people's posts
people in the Netherlands are MORE than polite and of good character. However, this is in the same country with legal marijuana and prostitution. This proves, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Goldberg's idiotic perception of how the presence of "crassness" in a culture has no correlation to the society and its people and the moral character thereof in any way.

Thanks for the input everyone.
