Wash Post: Rove Confirmed Plame Indirectly, Lawyer Says
The Washington Post's story seems to correct The New York Times's version.

Seems like Rove isn't claiming that he heard about Plame from Novak. Apparently, he can't remember where he heard it first.

4. Ha Ha Ha
Save it for the judge, buddy. 3 different stories just today on where he learned Mrs. Wilson's name. It doesn't matter what we think, it only matters what the Special Prosecutor puts down on paper.

Oh, BS. Anyhow, if he confirmed it in some brain fogged state - he should step aside. He's not fit to serve as Deputy in Charge of Earth.

7. Exactly

Who are they trying to fool? According to CNN's poll 89% of the people who voted want Bush to fire Rove. I wonder if anybody except the choir is listening to them?

6. yeah, now that the "story" ran over the AP wires
It was pretty obvious that the "insider" was just another ploy at disinformation.

I cannot wait to see the fate that befalls rover & the entire cabal.

8. Knowing Rove I am sure he was seeking out anything he could find
on Wilson. I am sure he asked Cheney to do a CIA background check on Wilson. Cheney runs the background check and finds his wife is Plame a CIA agent. Thats what they had and thats what they went with.

9. The most bizarre part of it all
Is the notion that Plame recommending Wilson is such an offense. Why would that negate everything that Wilson reported? Wilson's assertion that he went to Niger at the request of Cheney also makes complete sense.

It's like this is the lamest, most ineffectual lie Bushco could come up with and as an added bonus, it may be their downfall.

Rove Confirmed Plame Indirectly, Lawyer Says
Bush Aide Said Columnist Told Him Name

By Mike Allen
Washington Post Staff Writer
Friday, July 15, 2005; Page A01

White House senior adviser Karl Rove indirectly confirmed the CIA affiliation of an administration critic's wife for Robert D. Novak the week before the columnist named her and revealed her position, a lawyer involved in the case said last night.

The operative, Valerie Plame, is the wife of Joseph C. Wilson IV, a former ambassador who had publicly disputed the White House's contention that Saddam Hussein had sought to buy uranium from Niger for possible use in a nuclear weapon.

The lawyer, who has knowledge of the conversations between Rove and prosecutors, said President Bush's deputy chief of staff has told investigators that he first learned about the operative from a journalist and that he later learned her name from Novak.
