4. Don't you think San Francisco is more likely?

That way they could scare the hell out of everyone and get rid of America's densest concentration of liberalism.

5. Thought about it. And some sort of theme park, but they have an
ax to grind with LA and Hollywood. So I think that's where it will be.

8. I'm not saying you're wrong . . .
But I really have to say that one of the biggest arrows in the Republican quiver right now is their mantra that no terrorist attacks have occurred on American soil since 9/11, which must mean that Stupidhead is pursuing the right path.

Sure it's a non sequitur, but it's effective persuasion for folks without much time to think about or analyze the political situation (the incredibly vast majority of our fellow citizens). A bomb attack in LA or anywhere else would very briefly unite the citizenry, but the uncomfortable questions would ooze out after a very short time: What's Bush been doing for the last four years? Why weren't we safe from this attack after spending all this time, money, and military lives?

Shock will turn to compassion, and compassion will turn to anger faster than the Bush administration can tap-dance (and that's very fast, indeed). Who knows what that anger will turn to?

10. But they'll spin it.. "See, the war on terra is working" That 's what
they always say, at any rate.

But who is to say they'll use bombs again? Why not bioweapons.. something scary, but maybe not readily obvious as a terrorist deal? Remember how the country was frozen during the anthrax mailings and the Beltway sniper?

Safer, indeed.

9. San Francisco or Seattle
I can feel it it's like a summer storm before the rain when the humidity gets so thick that you wish it would pour just to stop it. Right now, I'm scared, waiting, something big is coming.

11. Yeah :^( The more traction we get with DSM and the Plame affair, the
more apprehensive I feel.

12. Ditto. This is where my money is .................
here in Lost Angeles we have contemplated this, and the consensus is that we are a crappy target because we are SO spread out, and parts of the city feel no connection to other part either culturally or geographically. I guess they could hit downtown, but there are so many other places where people work.........the port of LA/Long Beach is again a good target, but it's so far from me it feels like it's in another country.

13. From my personal perspective ............
the only way a terrorist attack would affect me much is if it were in the San Fernando Valley, and what are they going to do? Hit downtown Van Nuys???? Hit Universal Studios Tour??? The Fallbrook "Mall"???

Don't know why they would bother.
