So...I just had lunch with my freeper cousins...
Although we do get along and NEVER EVER talk politics, I don't even know if they know how I vote. So today I hear his wife telling my sister she just had her hair cut and colored at Wal-Mart!!!! My jaw just about hit the floor! I wanted to ask her WHY? She has always been extremely thrifty, but this takes the cake. These people live in an $800,000 house with a pool on a huge lot. I also know she has a cleaning lady and they have a landscaper. They have plenty of $$. She hasn't work since her first child was born 17 years ago and my cousin just left his CEO position where he worked. Go figure!!

2. LMAO!
I couldn't trust ANYONE who has their hair done at Wal-Mart. Family or not. That's just insanely funny.

6. I couldn't trust them either.
I'd have to be about flat broke to go there. I'd probably try at home myself first. The area where we live has plenty of choices in many price ranges.

8. That would be like going to K-Mart to have your teeth cleaned.
It's just insane to think of having one's hair done at Wally World. It makes me laugh.

12. Well, now that you mention it
when I was poor and had no dental insurance, I DID have my teeth cleaned at a K-Mart in NOrth Miami. There was a dental office in the back of the K-Mart, and it was less expensive than the regular dentist.

But I think the dentist rented the office space and was not affiliated with K-Mart, per se.

Just sayin'.

3. Maybe she doesn't like the pretentious $200/appt hair salons
Edited on Fri Jul-15-05 03:46 PM by RobertSeattle
My wife used to and got sick of the ridiculous charges.

And just to be clear... I get my haircut at a $12 barber shop in West Seattle.

5. I don't go for the pretentious $200 salons, either...
but Walmart? That's just crazy. It's like Walmart is going to be the entire town. There will be no other shops. There will be no need for other businesses. (This is probably more noticeable - the smaller the town.)

4. They cut hair too?
Next thing they will do is build and sell houses around a giant store. Their herd will never have to leave the neighborhood.

7. ....
Shudder. A cut and color at Satan's Five & Dime.

Oh well, a fool and her hair are soon fried.

(The hair, that is.)

9. Here's what she's talking about
The front of some Wal-Mart's are like mini malls. Mine has a hair salon, a bank, a cell phone company (this is how I know this, mine moved there and I had to go in to pay the bill until the contract expired), a photo studio and I think a couple of other things I can't seem to recall.

Yes, Wal-Mart really is taking over.
