There's a point that's probably worth raising with our scofflaw Republican friends. All of their arguments now amount to excuses, like those of a small child caught stealing cookies: Joe Wilson's a liar. Plame's covert status wasn't protected well by the CIA. It was just a short phone call. Rove really wanted to speak about welfare reform. Wilson said Cheney sent him to Africa. Plame sent Wilson to Africa. Rove leaked Plame's identity in the interests of good journalism. Wilson went on too many TV shows. On and on and on.

Josh still can't come to terms he was tricked into using his blog as a conduit for Wilson-esque disinfo about the Niger documents and such. I used to read it, you could sense the excitement he had delivering the info feeling like he was an insider at last.

He's been known to vote republican and is probably working for Karl Rove. He voted for Daddy Bush twice and for Dubya atleast once. He made us look like fools and I think it was the plan!

First, not everyone knows what type of humor is appropriate when they first sign on.

Second, even though I might agree with you (it sure seems you're right), it's best to give someone the benefit of the doubt so that;

A) You don't alienate a well-meaning but perhaps misguided person.
B) You can take advantage of the opportunity to educate a misguided freeper.
(It's great to watch freepers implode when they come across facts too.)

On a semi-related topic ... a know, I can't help thinking that -- wasn't the Presidential election over a few months ago and didn't Bush win? I would hope by now that people would realize that supporting our leadership is essential to the economic, political and social success of our nation. Bush is our President and while you don't have to agree with him on all the issues and should fight against policies you don't agree with, I find it unconscionable to seek to destroy the President -- particularly when other nations and group that want to do all of us harm are glad to use that against us.
