Hastert SPIN, more lying nonsense
<snip>

"A lot of smoke" was one characterization provided by Hastert of the controversy surrounding Bush adviser Karl Rove, whom Democrats are accusing of being involved in the disclosure of CIA operative Valerie Plame's name in 2003.

He said all he knows about the case - the subject of an investigation by special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald - is that Rove "was giving some people some background" when the alleged disclosure occurred.

1. If he doesn't know
Perhaps some one should suggest to him that the appropriate thing to do is to shut up until he does know something.

2. Soon-to-be President Hastert lying already
I hope he can be led to the path of righteousness with the promise great State Dinners, and all the snacks he wants, when Cheney and Bush are indicted by Fitzgerald. :evilgrin:

3. where there's smoke there's fire.
So Rove should be fired. As in "Ready... aim... fire!"

This is a lot of smoke, but Whitewater, Lewinsky, smoking dope in the 60s -- these are worth derailing the government for. (Troops were abroad during Clinton's terms, too, sheeple!)

Karl thinks that national security is a political tool. I suppose it was his idea to have an Orange Alert right when Kerry's acceptance speech was starting to stir Americans' weary spirits. Somebody decided when to release that intelligence that had been gathered YEARS before.

Got to wonder whether fingering Rove is some diversion -- a lot of smoke indeed -- to stop talk of DSM and other evidence of corruption in the GOP. Is it paranoid to think if Rove didn't want the heat, he'd have set somebody else up? He'd just whisper, "The name of Plame is blamed mainly on McCain." Dang, is it late!

6. That same intelligence you just cited
came from a guy in Pakistan who had become a double agent and was getting info about Al Queda. Our lovely white house gave out the guy's name to gain brownie points and spoiled the whole operation not only in Pakistan, but alerted a bunch that England was surveilling and the cops there had to make a hurry quick raid on an operation that wasn't ready and missed some of the perps they had been watching.

flash forward to the recent train bombing in England...

Some of the perps they missed in the 2004 raid regrouped and were responsible for the train bombing. It was in an AP article.
