Rove did NOT find out from a Reporter, he found out from Bush?
Edited on Sat Jul-16-05 02:11 PM by jsamuel
We know that someone leaked info (whether true or false) about Roves supposed testimony. He basically said he learned about Plame from a reporter other than Novak. As the woman said on Lou Dobbs, "that's bullshit".

We know that almost the entire WHIG (White House Iraqi Group) found out about Plame from a memo way before Novak outed her and before Rove talked to Novak. However, Rove was out of the loop at first on this one because he wasn't there when the memo was passed out.

See this thread: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x4116511

Now what I am suggesting is that Rove must have been told by someone in the WHIG who was on that plane that day. Bush was on that plane and Rove is Bush's senior adviser. There is no way Rove would ever testify that he learned about Plame from Bush, however this actually seems like the most likely possibility right now.

1. Does it matter who he
found out from?A senoir administration official should not be talking about covert agents whether some other reporter knew or not.I heard one ex-CIA go as far as say now every country that Plame went to can go back and find out who she met with and see who else is working for the CIA untold numbers of agents and sources could be lost. This is a big deal no matter who says it's not.

2. Very true, but if he found out from Bush, Rove would still be treasonous

8. The Person He Found Out is Important Because That Person is a Leaker
and he or she is guilty. The identity matters enormously, especially if it's Bush or Cheney.

BTW, I don't think Rove is exonerated at all if someone else was the original leaker. Everyone in the administration could be a leaker. It's not an either/or situation.

3. Jail Robert Novak
Hi, I'm new and late to this discussion. Perhaps someone out there has already explained why Robert Novak is still sitting writing his column and Judy Miller is in jail? Has no one asked Novak to produce his sources, both of them, at least? He started the fight, how has he managed to stay unbloodied? Have I missed something? Can you please point me toward an explanation?

6. The explanation is that he squealed like a little piggie
so they quit pursuing him.. Probably the stuff he told them is what started the prosecutors down the trail they're on now .. He's not only an irresponsible and reprehensible person, he's a stool-pigeon.

Thank you. Cheers. It's nice to meet angry people with brains. I fear preaching to the choir so I will ask more questions than I can answer, although who knows.

15. Obfuscation
Obfuscation, in a word.

By the time Fitzgerald is fired, perhaps the public will be confused enough - and the necessary high court personnel will be in place - to see that all comes to naught. At least that seems to me to be one possible strategy.

14. Was this a CNN payback for Wolf twisting Wilson's words?
The whole this about "she wasn't a CIA agent" was an opportunity seized upon by Blizter to distort Wilson's words.

Perhaps the "Bullshit" comment was a little invertant payback.

Is there an internal war going on within CNN?

16. The chain of evidence
This is exactly why the Air Force One phone log is so vital-- if Turd Blossom (some dare call him Shithead) wasn't on board that day, did someone call him, and if so, who and when?

Just because he may not have been flying with the boys club, doesn't mean he was "out of the loop". That plane has one of the most sophisticated world-wide communications links in existence, and we all know how children can't keep a good secret.

He was contacted and informed.

17. IF ROVE WERE A DEMOCRAT
http://www.palmbeachpost.com/opinion/content/opinion/epaper/2005/07/16/m11a_mcevoy_0716.html

By George McEvoy

Palm Beach Post Columnist

Saturday, July 16, 2005

I'm certainly happy that George W. Bush and Karl Rove are not Democrats. If they were, just imagine the mess this country would be in right now, even worse than the mess it is in.

First, there would be cries of "treason" directed at Mr. Rove from the Republican ranks.

If you want to get an idea of how this Karl Rove scandal might play out if the roles were reversed and the Democrats were in the White House and ruled both houses of Congress, look at what the Republicans did to President Clinton.

He's had two years to think of this stuff - I was discussing this with a friend today and that's her theory.

I think he's just in the childish "I am but what are you" mode. Typical.

24. Armitage Knew enough in early July to demand the memo be sent
to Powell. Original Memo dated June 10 - full month after Wilson had begun to be unarmed source in May newspaper articles.

My questions. I know how info works as it rises to the departmental head responsible. I know that a memo could get turned around a few times if the spelling or something was not perfect. I know that when someone requested a memo on the Wilson family around June 5 - it came from high up. And the... it got truned around for spelling but surfaced officially June 10th? So - someone up higher than god got the output from that memo around June 10th. So were is that "Back Draft". Cause those public servants are pretty *ing efficient. Am I to believe the it just went up into the "either" June 10th and no superior saw it? No "executive". (executive still means something you know). It just sat there till Armitage wanted it badly around JUlY 4? Yup! I believe that!!! NOT!!!!!!!!!! And somehow - "by coincidence"... journalists had the info and passed it on to the executive offices.

Mmmmmmmmhum! I believe that. NOT!!!
