Rush Limbaugh to the GOP: "Don't apologize for racism"

On July 14th, Republican National Committee Chairman Ken Mehlman addressed the NAACP’s national convention. In his speech, he apologized for the GOP’s “southern strategy," a Republican effort, started in 1968, to use opposition to desegregation and busing in order to appeal to white southern voters. In his typically outrageous fashion, Rush Limbaugh lambasted Mehlman for daring “to go down there and apologize for it. In the midst of all of this, in the midst of all that's going on, once again, Republicans are going to go bend over and grab the ankles.”

3. Kenny Boy Mehlman's "apology" was rather vague

What was he apologizing for sepcifically: Nixon's courtship of angry white people with the anti-busing campaign in 1972? Reagan's "welfare queen" crack in 1976? The Willie Horton ads in 1988? Will the Republicans give those votes back? I want those votes back. The angry white male who lives in Mississippi. I want him back in the Democratic Party.

But lately he seems to have completely gone off the deep end, like into Michael Weiner territory. Maybe the impending jail sentence is wearing on him.

Yeah well, I must say that this doesn't surprise me all too much. Remember now, Rush is also the man who repeatedly refers to Sen. Barrack Obama (who happens to be black, of course) as "Osama Obama", or vice-versa as "Obama Osama". NO JOKE.
