Poll question: POLL: Why did chairman Ken Mehlman say GOP dropping Southern Strategy?
Speaking before the NAACP, Mehlman apologized for the Southern Strategy and said the GOP will try to be more inclusive in the future. What's the deal?

3. 'Cause the South is in the bag
He's not even worried about it, so Mehlman can afford these comments. If things tighten up and Southern states start getting close, the GOP can always go back to their race trump card.

4. I read somewhere a few months ago...
... that one of the positive effects of the repukes coming out against gay marriage is that they had a upswing in African American support. Perhaps they are using gay marriage and the rejection (wink wink) of the Southern Strategy as a way to bring homophobic African Americans into the fold.

6. hypocritical lies
He may as well have showed up in Klan robes and burned a cross onstage.

The constituency doesn't matter, the elections are now completely staged by Diebold et al. These fascist frauds don't even need October surprises anymore.
