Write Your Republican Representatives Now

We need to win big in the next election cycle. It will be a war, probably more fiercely fought than the last Presidential election, but there is ammunition aplenty just laying on the ground right now. Pick it up and store it away for future use.

If you live in a District that is represented by a Republican write them now and ask, as nicely as possible, if they would please give their position on the current controversy over the activities of the Grand Jury and particularly if they support Rove and believe he did no wrong. Just get a letter from them. If you ask the question right they will answer. Get them on record. Start collecting quotes from local press, things they are bound to be sorry they said next year,

Then, a year from now, when a Democrat has been selected to run against the Republican dog send them your rove-support letter so they can use it as ammunition against the Republican dog, who by then will be renouncing Rove as if he were the antichrist himself.

We need to get this out to the people now so that message starts to sink in.

We train activists to do this type of thing at the Democracy Cell project.

We want letters published, we want to show people how to hold their representatives accountable, and we want to empower people. Because it's not just about getting progressives elected, afterall, it's about making sure our representatives follow the law and defends the people who voted them into office.

Even if it doesn't look like it sinks in, if they hear it enough times, it may eventually get through. Not to minimize the importance of writing to one's congressmen.
