Over DU's history, what event caused the highest amounts of freep attacks
Seems to be very high volume lately? Has it ever been worse?

1. When the DSM hearings happened
This site was down for a few hours, it seemed like some sort of attack.

2. Oh lord yes ...
My understanding is that it has never been as bad as it was in the beginning, before measures were put into place to keep the attacks to a minimum.

But even in my time here it's been far worse. (I'm actually not seeing anything out of the ordinary at the moment, but then maybe I'm not paying enough attention.) The first days of Novemember were particularly bad, for example, but I also remember a few days from the debates last year when you couldn't open a thread without some nonsense going on.

3. I don't know about attacks but
when RayGun died, we were at DefCon 4 for days. More traffic than I have ever seen. We really got nasty. I think it was mentioned on the MSM.

4. When Khephra died, there was a lot of activity.
I saw some of what was written and it was some of the sickest stuff I've ever seen. :( I didn't know how depraved some of the freepers were until I read what was said. I nearly threw up. Since then, I've learned that some are even worse than that.

I've always believed in evil, but to see it in action is so hard. I would never, ever do to a freeper what I saw them do to others. I wish justice would be done to them in a legal fashion, but I don't even wish the death penalty on the worst offenders in the * admin, not even those who caused so many to lose their lives.

I don't believe in life after death, but if there is one, Khephra, nostamj and Andy are giving the freepers a LIVING hell right now. :) I just wish some of them would develop a conscience.

12. Didn't the night of the 2002 election we got a script virus?
Some hack had realized DU was succeptible to storing a script inside a DU message and did so - it was "amusing" for a few hours until it got removed.
