Question: Whatever happened to the release of the new Abu Ghraib
photos? Did I miss it, or what is the delay?

2. That's the last I heard
They changed it because they wanted to release it all at the same time. Last reason I heard. Video's and photo's together. You would think they wouldn't document stuff like this. Ugh. Makes me sick.

6. Friday news dump, of course. Fri. news dump is increasingly outdated...
because of the vast changes in media/Internet, etc.

They just look foolish when they do that, opening themselves up to charges of a Friday news dump, which, of course, is what they are doing.

It will look great all splashed over the Sunday papers.

5. I heard they wanted to redact them to protect people's identity...
so asked for an extension.

9. The funniest part of the wanting to redact
to protect identity in the photos, is they used the Geneva Conventions for their excuse to redact from torture photos.

11. Oh, of course, major hypocrisy.
But what else is new with these people? Just another day at work for Bushco, the Pentagon, etc.

7. Lawyers, that's what happened
If you want to get something done in this country keep the lawyers out of it.

8. Ohhh, Wouldn't it Be Lov-er-ly??
if they could get the photos, films, and the Abu Ghraib kitchen sink out in time to do a live feed to the AfterDowningStreet parties that Rep. Conyers is organizing for 7/23 &/or 7/24 ?

Make for stimulating background to the conversation about why the hell we are there in the first place.

10. Somehow I think that a backdrop of those pictures would ruin my appetite
After Downing Street parties? Never heard of it,but I'm in the minority here in that I think the Downing Street Memo will drift into obscurity like all the other Bush scandals.

When you have a corporte owned media and a Republican Congress these stories wither on the vine fairly quickly.

12. Here's hoping nothing else happens on Friday.
You know, that might take the spotlight off of this.

13. Well, I'd be willing to put it aside temporarily for
a Rove indictment or some other equivalent good bit of news.
