Just kidding, Will. But seriously, if the reporters were unified, they wouldn't have to be bullied by the Rove machine. If they all stood together what could happen to them? They couldn't fire all of them. Do you think it's possible that they could rebel?

If they could get together en masse, they'd be much more effective, sure. I'm not sure how possible it is that they will all get the guts to do it, though.

It was/is the corporate ownership of the news media that contributes heavily to the Repubs in order to get favorable legislation/deregulation to help their bottom lines....

In short, there just aren't that many places for reporters to work that aren't controlled from corporate front offices.

with enough scabs to take over, but the publicity would be to overwhelming for the corporations too justify firing them.

and don't forget that reporters can only report what the people that write their paychecks are willing to report.

in the end. The reporters collectively have much more power than they may percieve.
