Podesta made some good points yesterday.
I hadn't seen Mehlman before. What an amazingly brazen, slimy character he is. His ability to shake off facts and rational arguments is impressive, almost entertaining.

Podesta did well, I thought. He made a point that I hope continues to be made with increasing regularity and strength. The GOP, at this point, would love for the press to continue to focus on the legal problems of Rove....was Plame actually undercover....did Rove know her name....who told Rove...who told Novak...etc. But the real focus should be on Rove's intent: to continue to hide the lies associated with invading Iraq.

Whether or not Rove broke the law will be worked out by Fitzgerald. How much this tarnishes the administration in terms of an illegal invasion is up to us and the media.

1. Yes Mehlman was slimey
He tryed to spin everything into a victory. John said to the broader picture the Whitehouse lied about the reasons to go to war.He also knew the accurate American death toll 1763.
