Where have all the 'W '04" stickers gone?
Edited on Mon Jul-18-05 03:01 PM by xray s
Up until a few weeks ago "W '04" stickers from the election were still prominently displayed on gas guzzlers in my neck of the woods.

But I have just realized I haven't seen one in about a week or so.

What's the matter, don't people like to publicly proclaim their allegiance to a traitor and his merry band of criminals.?

17. Not as many here.
I live in North Georgia, and I don't see as many as I use to.

My daughter and I count the "W" stickers we see when we are out and about. We see less and less as the weeks go by. For instance, today we were out (for about four hours) doing my weekly errands, and we only saw two of them.

Also we have driven up I-85 from Gainesville, Georgia to Charlotte, NC, four times since the first of June. The first time we did it, we counted 17 stickers for the trip and back. The last time we did it (last weekend), we only coundted 4 for the entire trip. What was even cooler is, that on this last trip we also counted 6 Kerry/Edwards stickers.:)

71. Central San Joaquin Valley...
Very small town of about 10,000 ... farming area ... distressingly red. I'm not sure if 85% is the exact figure, but I looked it up shortly after the election and, if memory serves, was between 80%-85%.

Virtually all my family are die-hard republicans, so it gets to be a tricky subject at times. What I can't figure out is how my own father fell into this camp. I always remember him being fairly apolitical, but if I bring up anything about Iraq or Bush, he very nearly pops a vein.

Just the other day I took a shot at Arnold, saying "your boy Schwarzenegger sure is taking a beating at the polls!" To which he replied, "People are against him because he tells it the way it is." Interesting argument, dad...

Sometimes I can't figure it out. Most of the die-hard repub hardliners in my family are really fine people except for their political affilation. What distresses me about that is that they'll willingly rubberstamp anything republicans do simply because it was done by republicans, no matter how vile or wrongheaded it might be. There are times I think they'd applaud if Bush at a live baby on TV; just as long as it wasn't a (gasp!) traitorous lib who did it!

Actually, Bush stickers piss me off period, more now than during the election even.

I still see them in my (red state) area, but I've also been seeing more "Bring our Troops Home", as well as anti-W (the W w/ the red slash) stickers as well.

I don't have any bumper stickers on my car, but I'm going to get one to help advertise my local progressive radio station.

I really wish Florida didn't have such a shitty reputation, because its a vicious cycle - we should be having progressive people move here from all over to change this beautiful state around. but that's not ever going to happen because Florida has rightfully become known as a strange and backwards land populated with degenerates and governed by swine.
