Three Nights AWOL...Tweety...Where Are You?
Tonight Campbell Brown's hosting what appears to be the first of a week's worth of reports/shows about Rove Leak. :bounce:

David Gregory on now...front and center, as he was last week.

But where's Mr. Matthews. You'd think this is a story he'd be slobbering all over himself to get his teeth into. But he hasn't been seen/heard since last Wednesday...before Gregory and company tore Snotty a new one in the White House Press Room.

Tweety has said he was questioned involving this case. Maybe he's just decided to take some vacation time.

Looks like a good show up ahead.

Cheers...

1. Naw, this is July. He's probably on vacation.
I know you don't like him, but gee, we didn't say that about Mike Malloy, and he's been on vacation for a week!

I'm sure Tweety would LOVE to be in the middle of this story, but the story will continue long past his vacation, so he'll get his chance.

3. He's Been Questioned By Fitzgerald's People
He was one of the reporters the Wilson/Plame story was shopped around to before Novak picked it up and ran with it. To Tweety's credit, he didn't take the bait, but he's also never commented on his role in this developing story is either.

It's not if I like him or not, it's the timing of his "vacation" (and there's no mention tonight as to where he is...no mention he's on vacation that I've heard), or if he's being put on a quiet sabatical pending how this story shakes out. If it cools off Tweety comes back next week, if it stays hot, then what?

The shows he did last week were embarassing whitewashes of this story...he did one where the first 30 minutes was nothing but GOOP spinmeisters...and the first Democrat to appear was Bob Schrumm...and then he wasn't even allowed to get a word in.

Olbermann's also on vacation...I expect he'll be back tonight, and I look forward to hearing what my old friend Mike Malloy has to say.

Cheers...

4. Gregory has been doing a better job...

I think Matthews is a little out of favor right now. The public is realizing that when Matthews has a Republican guest on, they get to play "Tee-ball With Tweety" (easy set-up questions that they can hit out of the park.) When he has a Democratic guest on, they play "Hardball With Chris Matthews". I think the viewing audience knows what is going on and they don't like it.

David Gregory is doing a much better job.

5. Here's The List Of The Reporters Questioned By Fitzgerald...
http://talkleft.com/new_archives/011403.html

...All three subpoenas were sent to employees of the Executive Office of the President under a Jan. 26 memo by White House counsel Alberto Gonzalez saying production of the documents was "mandatory" by Jan. 29....The third subpoena repeats an informal Justice Department document request to the White House last fall seeking records about staff contacts with Novak and two Newsday reporters, Knut Royce and Timothy Phelps, who reported July 22 that Plame was a covert agent and Novak had blown her cover.

The subpoena added journalists such as Mike Allen and Dana Priest of The Washington Post, Michael Duffy of Time magazine, Andrea Mitchell of NBC News, Chris Matthews of MSNBC's "Hardball" and reporters from The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and The Associated Press.

I don't think I've seen or heard Mrs. Greenspan as well since this story got hot.

10. It was hysterical to watch Barney Frank of all people slam Camble royally
when presenting herself as a pittbull on why the Dems don't spend more
time on social security, medicaid, etc.,...Barney said...

"But Camble you invited me to the show to talk about Rove's
treasonous leak.....If you had invited me to talk about social security I would be talking right now about social security"

What a slam!!!!!
