Wise words from Professor Dumbledore:
"Harry! Don't you see? Voldemort himself created his worst enemy, just as tyrants everywhere do! Have you any idea how much tyrants fear the people they oppress? All of them realize that, one day, amongst their many victims, there is sure to be one who rises against them and strikes back! Voldemort is no different!"

Something to ponder.

1. I haven't finished yet,but...
I also see a lot of Nazi type motivations behind the Death Eaters, and some modern Culture of Fear stuff going on in there too.

4. Me too.
The part where Harry chews out the Ministry of Magic guy for imprisoning that innocent man. Right out of Patriot Act.

5. I think she mentioned that situation more than once, too ...
Stan, of all people, being fingered as a Voldemort supporter!

7. Harry's opinion on the Ministry and Stan, too
was quite obvious.

8. I couldn't help thinking about Jessica Lynch and others like her ...
During the scene where Harry refused to be put on show by the Ministry for propaganda purposes.

3. 2nd sentence of the new HP book...
"He (the Prime Minister of England) was waiting for a call from the President of a far distant country, and between wondering when the wretched man would telephone..."

I was so happy to read that when I picked up the book today. I love thinly veiled attacks!

6. Bush's new nickname around my household -- "Wretched Man Dubya"
Or WMD for short.

I wonder if anyone else felt a bit sympathetic for the Prime Minister in the book (and by extension, Tony Blair) -- wizards messing with his head, plus kept waiting around like that by a certain President (you know it's not that important a call or he would have phoned sooner!).

10. Calling Sooner
(you know it's not that important a call or he would have phoned sooner!).

Or she was pointing out that WMD couldn't bother himself to consider what the time difference between DC and London would mean.
