.
John Aravosis over at AmericaBlob untangles the simple genius of Bush's statement today:

------------------

"So when Bush said today that "If someone committed a crime, they will no longer work in my administration," what he really said was that if someone in his administration is sent to jail he won't let them tele-commute to the West Wing.

Seriously, think about what he said today. It was absolutely meaningless, yet brilliant in its deceptiveness. If someone in my administration is sent to jail I won't keep them on the federal payroll. Well bully for you, big boy. I can see why they call you "commander in chief." No decision, however difficult, stumps you.

Tomorrow Bush might even tell us that if someone on his staff dies, they will no longer work in his administration."

5. It appears that the shrub is really saying that he isn't gonna fire one
of his friends until they are actually convicted of a crime. Interesting ethical posture.

6. The conservatives have all these think-tanks which do stuff for them.
Like the American Enterprise Institute, Heritage Foundation, Federalist Society, Project for a New American Century...Rove could just work for one of those to get paid, and continue to advise were he to be fired.

It seems the only unemployment that concerns Chimpy right now is Rove's.

9. By this line of reasoning
Aldrich Ames and Robert Hansen would be able to keep their jobs at the CIA and FBI, respectively, until they were tried, convicted, and all their appeals exhausted.
