Poll question: Does Bushco have a mole in the leak investigation?
It seems like a natural, given this corrupt bunch, but I don't know. The White House is behaving like they don't really have any control here.

What do you think?

1. I don't think they control Fitzgerald..
And they act guilty.

4. And from what we know about Fitzgerald. . .
I would not want to be the member of the Grand Jury who was the leak when he discovered it.

2. How would they manage that exactly?

I don't think this WH knows what the hell is going on. It's pretty obvious...lots of paranoia from the democrats though.

Something wrong with this picture.

15. If only it was that certain.
Too many Bushco scandals have dried up and blown away on the winds for me to be so sure.

3. Having a mole on Fitzgerald's legal team doesn't necessarily mean control
just that they may have some access to the evidence hitting the files before it gets sealed, including deposition transcripts, Grand Jury testimony, and a list of documents. I would bet that Bushco at the very least has made every last available effort to get some idea of what Fitzgerald has. Fitzgerald may even have witnesses from inside the White House who have come forward against Rove and Libby for all we know. I don't know how many people from the Bush Administration have been subpoenaed as witnesses but I'd love to see the list. But Fitzgerald may even have a whistleblower or two who has come forward on his/her own. We don't know. And given Bush's paranoia, I'm sure he wonders too, and suspects enemies all around him and desperately wants to know if he's being betrayed behind his back. Evidence from inside the White House, if any of it contains damning evidence could be seen not only by major players but by aides, interns, secretaries, or others. If any shredding has been going on, I'll bet Bush is having fits wondering if anyone has made any unauthorized copies. He could be going nuts.

16. Fitzgerald is refreshing after Ken Starr

I was so sick of seeing that slimeball go back and forth to his car!
Every night his face was on that TB=V.

Please let Fitzgerald be a TRUTH SEEKER?

5. everybody's got moles everywhere
Fortunately it doesn't look like they've got a death grip on Fitzgerald. The truth may yet come out.

Also, Cooper's comments about the grand jury relative to "indicting a ham sandwich" were rather humorous. It sounds as if they're going to indict a cast of thousands.

10. That's my guess
A private 'deep throat' who's giving him shit from inside the CIA .... or maybe a former CIA person talking from memory. And these people have very long memories.

And they're mightily pissed off for both taking the fall for idiot son's hubris and for the revelation of a NOC's identity.

My money's on a mole there ... a mole bent on biting idiot son in the ass.

I mentioned this earlier today on another thread. Firzgerald was selected to go to Regis HS in NYC. This is a private school for NYC Catholic teens who lack the financial means for private school...all of NYC. It's run by the Jesuits who back then were awesome teachers. To get selected for this school must have been competitive beyond words since about 60% of NYC is Catholic. Probably harder to get into than the Bronx HS of Science. Soooo....the guy's working class, highly intelligent, and a New Yorker.

I like this quote from the Isikoff article linked above:

"Fitzgerald is intentionally keeping reporters and everyone else guessing as to what's really going on in his head. Last week, NEWSWEEK has learned, after Time's Matthew Cooper provided grand-jury testimony on his July 11, 2003, conversation with Karl Rove, Robert Luskin, Rove's attorney, placed a call to Fitzgerald to make sure he didn't need anything more from Rove in light of Cooper's claims. Fitzgerald didn't bite: "We'll get back to you," the prosecutor replied curtly and quickly got off the line."

Fitzgerald got burned when someone tipped off Muslim charities he'd targeted for sending funds to bin Lootin. Word is that somebody may be somebody in jail (Women's Prison) or the WH. Wonder who that might have been...I suspect that this guy is pissed off.

Remember, his corruption indictments in IL have ruined the Republican Party and he's now going after Daley. Guy likes a good fight.

9. Maybe the mole is a weak one....he is faking his way up there too.
Faux/Rookie Moles usually get only weak information....and some
guy in the next level UP.....thinks its GOOD and goes for it....

Disaster....

I think they have a weak one, or, no mole(s) at all.

Come, we go find shovels.....find those moles why don we?

19. They're trying to control the message as per usual, but it doesn't seem to
be working as well as it did in the past. That must be a tad disconcerting to them. And now even the lapdog press is on their case as if Rove & Co. were the new Michael Jackson. Whoo hoo!
