Right-winger Jay Severin gets banned from MSNBC
Edited on Tue Jul-19-05 09:37 AM by wicket
LOL!!!!

http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/msnbc/situation_severs_ties_with_severin_23685.asp

Jay Severin is off MSNBC's 'Situation with Tucker Carlson.' Sunday's Page Six makes it sound like Severin wanted to leave: Their sources say he "didn't enjoy the commute from his home in Sag Harbor to the TV show's studio in New Jersey."

But the suggestion that leaving the Situation was Severin's decision is a "complete absolute lie," an insider tells TVNewser. In fact, he's been banned from the network: "You won't see him on MSNBC again," the source says. (And based on Severin's actions in Secaucus, "we were shocked to read in Page Six that he has a wife and daughter," the insider adds...)

1. I don't get it.
I'm glad to hear that he's gone (though I won't watch MSNBC, CNN or FAUX), but what does his wife and daughter have to do with it??

3. Hooray. I have listened to him here in MA on 96.9 fm. They guy is a real
sexual sicko imo. I called into his show a few times tell him off and did a pretty good job at it, if I say so myself. I took a lot of pride in that. They guy deserves no audience. New Englands best and brightest my ass!

5. I always thought
his everly sexual comments towards women was a cover.
Constant flirting and bragging of exploits that is really no one elses business is a sure sign of covering up the exact opposite.

My guess was that he was gay. Still do. Seems like the self loathing type.

6. New England's best and brightest, it's typical GOP radio bullshit
Just like Rush and Hannity always talking about their listeners being the most informed, and brightest and all that. It's only done becuase dumbshits respond to it so well, tell them how smart they are, and then tell them what to think.

And Severin's an asshole.

7. When I lived up there I knew a TON of listeners
and not a single one agreed with the shit he spewed. He's a shock jock in a way. I knew a ton of people who would listen to him in their cars primarily just to hear what stupid stuff he would say, and get them riled up.

I'd be curious exactly what percentage of his ratings audience is one of people screaming at the radio when he says stupid things.

I like that line :)

I haven't really listened to Rachel Maddow.

The Situation's Jay Severin called Sen. Clinton "the devil"

Discussing former President Bill Clinton and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's (D-NY) appearance at a June 25 revival in New York City with evangelist Billy Graham, radio host Jay Severin described Sen. Clinton as "the devil."

From the June 27 edition of MSNBC's The Situation with Tucker Carlson, in a discussion that also included ESPN Radio host Max Kellerman:

CARLSON: Is Hillary Clinton -- is her presidency divinely ordained? It hasn't quite come to that, but the senator from New York did get a ringing endorsement from Billy Graham. At a rally Sunday in New York City, Senator Clinton and the former president sat on the stage while the 86-year-old evangelist recalled once saying that Bill Clinton should become an evangelist himself and "leave his wife to run the country." You think it was a joke? What were the Clintons doing at this rally? It brought me back -- I've never been a Hillary Clinton beater-upper, and I'm not a Hillary-hater. Her husband does bug me, though, for this reason: He's always running around being the holy-roller, Bible-thumper guy. That guy quoted Scripture more than any president in my lifetime, by far. And here he is at a Billy Graham rally. You know, enough.

<snip>

SEVERIN: The divine ordination would be tremendously novel, inasmuch as Hillary is the devil.

Media Matters for America has documented several of Severin's controversial statements,
http://mediamatters.org/items/itembody/200506100003

including calling Sen. Clinton "the Antichrist" . He most recently called her "absolutely sociopathic" and "the Manchurian candidate."

Conservative radio show host Jay Severin has split Tucker Carlson's Situation on MSNBC, bemoaning the commute to Jersey from his Sag Harbor home, especially after seeing what the ratings numbers are.

I know some people who listen to him- and they are certainly not fans, they just like to hear what crazy things he's got to say. Personally, I can't stomach him, his voice has the effect of nails on a chalkboard to me heh.

19. he's not a right winger tho
he calls himself a libertarian, but seems to be half conservative/half liberal

I'd consider him an independent thinker.

21. he claims to be libertarian
and I suppose you could call him an independent thinker, but that doesn't change the fact that he's mean and nasty, a probable closeted gay man who demeans women.

He's despicable!

28. LINO
There is nothing libertarian about him. He can find no fault with big government fascist republicanism. His 'libertarianism' is as phony as his single bay area swinger persona. it is all bullshit to suck in the gullible.

23. Jimmy Severino got banned?
That is, reportedly, his real name.

I guess he's ashamed of his Italian heritage, like maybe he thinks that people might think he's part of some mafia family or something. What his pea brain doesn't process is that it's much more embarrassing and humiliating to be a member of the Bush Crime Family, which is the worst, most repugnant gang of criminals this country has never known.

25. The problem with replacing Severin
Whenever Severin was on opposite Ms. Maddow, he'd spout off opinions (often getting Mr. Brock's attention), but would at least return enough courtesy to allow Ms. Maddow to talk. Every other right-winger on that show thinks they're on Fox and will overtalk Ms. Maddow at every opportunity, which also encourages Carlson to do the same.

It is only for this reason that I'll miss him. Now it will swiftly become "Crossfire Jr.".

29. He has a wife and daughter - I am shocked. He talks about
woman in digusting terms. Talks about them like Stern did and does, and look how well his marriage turned out. Jay would say that Rachel was beautiful, but that b/c she was a lesbian, he had to compete on the set with her.

32. Howard is pretty honest about his personal life.
When his marriage was fucked up that was pretty much all he talked about. He is quite clear about his current relationship as well: he loves to look at other women but he is devoted to his girlfriend. Severin on the other hand is a liar and a phoney.
