Question I wish the Press Corps would pose to Scotty...
I'd like to hear one of the WH reporters ask McClellan this question...

President Bush has said that he doesn't have all the facts regarding the Valerie Plame leak. If the President trusted his staff, he should *have* all the facts -- because he would trust that, on asking his staff of their involvement in the matter, they would fully disclose any actions or knowledge related to the matter.

Does the President not trust his staff to be honest with him, to provide him with truthful information?

2. Yeah, but then what would he do if they said "yes, I leaked the
agent who was working undercover on weapons of mass destruction". You can easily see why he won't ask them.

3. Helen Thomas asked McClellan that and was ignored.

4. When?
Got a link for the transcript?

I'm looking for more than just the simple "do you trust Rove?" question. The reporter needs to first back McClellan into the corner w/ the preface. (i.e. Bush *should* have the facts if he trusted his staff) It's a no-win situation for McClellan.

Sort of an anti-Gannon question, really.

5. Nice. Mark Riley flourish on Bush's not knowing "all the facts"
Mark Riley hits the nail on the head, on this morning's (7/20) Morning Sedition, with the following flourish regarding Bush's not knowing "all the facts"...

"The bottom line here, Marc, is very very simple, and you pointed it out earlier.

"George W Bush -- nevermind what he is gonna tell the public -- for his *own* edification needed to go in and find out exactly who did what here... *assuming* he doesn't know - 'cause that's what he says.

"Now, if he's not prepared to do that, why is he fit to serve here as our Chief Executive, as our Commander in Chief, as the guy who sends hundred of thousands of troops overseas to fight a war?

"How can he be confident enough to do that if he's not confident enough to sit his inner circle down and find out what the hell's going on with these leaks?"

So Bush either...

  1. doesn't trust his inner circle to come clean with him, or
  2. knows just what's happened as is refusing to take action, or
  3. doesn't really care.
