Another Folded Flag (Psst, Freepers in here!)
We buried my wifes brother today. He had been living with us for awhile. It is the 3rd folded flag we’ve gotten in the last 3 years. My family has 2 additional flags from both my grandfathers. I was just wondering how many of you holier-than-thou freepers have 5 people in your immediate family buried with military honors. 2 of whom died in combat so you can spout off your hypocritical rhetoric.
A lot of you know I’m the guy who totally fucked up last week and posted too much info about a job I was doing and ended up getting myself canned. Not only did the freepers take me apart but a lot of DU’ers as well, (even after I posted 3 times that yes I fucked up, and yes I knew it, and please stop reminding me of the fact, so thanks a lot, friends :eyes: ). I also received much support from many DU’ers (you know who you are and you ROCK!)
I make this post today, still using my same DU name even though I was advised to change it and all my info. The truth is, I am not afraid of what some psycho freeper might do. I have given enough of my family to this country, that I have not only the right, but the responsibility to defend what it stands for. Nothing you can do to me could be any worse than what I had to face today for a third time in as many years. So you freeps go ahead and keep defending the criminals and traitors that are running this country and my family and I will keep defending America.

A note to Mau10man… in spite of the fact that you were afraid to tell your freeper buddies that you had to lie to get me thrown off the gig I was on (no one who knows me would ever believe that I would threaten a living soul) I lost all of a days work, and it turns out the people I was working for thought the whole thing was pretty funny… Sure I fucked up, sure I admitted it, at least I’m not a fucking liar, which seems to be an epidemic among neos and you freeps…
Once again a big thanks to all you DU’ers who have been supporting me through all of this.

18.  YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE - Dude
Edited on Tue Jul-19-05 08:41 PM by Burried News
When you walk through a storm
hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm is a golden sky

And the sweet silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Tho' your dreams be tossed and blown.

Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never, ever walk alone.
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart

And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never, ever walk alone.

Words And Music by Oscar Hammerstein II - Richard Rogers.

5. I am so sorry walldude. FWIW I didn't think you did anything
worse than make a simple mistake. Everyone does it. But I am so sad about what you've had to endure, both from the dispicable freeper hypocrites who call themselves patriots and from the terrible deaths of your loved ones. No one should have to die to line BushCo's pockets, and it makes me sick how many have.

10. I'm so sorry for your loss.
We haven't buried any in combat at this time but my family has buried two veterans in the past two years (both of my grandfathers). Both served in WWII on the European front (one of the two served both in Africa and Europe). The most highly decorated one was also a liberal (though he never referred to himself as one. He just spouted our ideas constantly and absolutely agreed w/ them).

Also, we purchased some lovely shadow boxes for the flags. We have their photos in each of the boxes. I will look around for a link sometime if you are interested (easy way to display or store them.) One of the boxes was large enough to also display some medals in it too. Not the time right now to think about it but let me know if you are interested in the future.

Just know that I am thinking about you and that I am so sorry for your loss.

38. Sure.
I'll look around for the links when I wake up this afternoon (I'm at work right now).
We found some decent prices online. The best one I ever found was not online. It was done in a shop class in the local high school (might look there too-good quality at a decent price). But I will try to find the links this afternoon for you.

i read your story last week. i dont think i posted, but i thought about you. i appreciate you sharing that story on the site along with this story. and the sadness that you family experienced, again.

i wouldnt have razzed you cause you fucked up. i believe you should be able to post, without being attacked. i dont need to point the finger at you, i am quite capable of placing the responsibility where it lies. to the people that are malicious enough to want to hurt a fellow human being, as they go to church on sunday feeling so superior in their religion and protected. yet from their own acts, they do exactly the opposite of what is preached to them.

take care of you and yours. the picture will stay with me

32. My deepest condolences walldude
Your family has sacrificed more than its share for this country. My grandfather, father and stepfather all were in the military and two of them went to war, but fortunately none lost their lives. I am grateful to have never suffered a loss such as yours.

Yesterday I received the video I ordered from Veterans for Peace. It is called Cost Of War and although I haven't had the time to view it yet I anticipate it will be overwhelming. They informed me when I ordered it that I could copy it and distribute it if I wanted. Therefore, when I get some extra funds I think I will get a software upgrade so I can burn DVDs on my computer and some blank DVDs. I'll burn a bunch of copies of COW and leave them in coffee shops, stores and other public places. I'm also thinking of taping them to gas-guzzling SUVs and monster trucks with a brief note letting people know "this is what your vehicle is supporting". I'll be sure to put a viewer discretion warning on the DVD if there are disturbing images to avoid kids or others seeing it unawares.

I think too few people realize just exactly what this war is costing us. They think it is all "USA, rah rah". They need to know the truth--that people like your loved ones are dying, and all for lies.

And as far as your work mishap is concerned - it's nobody's business but yours. I saw your original post, and then the subsequent fallout, and I felt bad for you that so many of us chose the self-righteous or sanctimonious response rather than sympathetic.

Your family has given a lot for our country.
