Has there EVER been a more sappy SCOTUS announcement?

I thought Roberts was gonna cry on cue.

This appearance was VERY carefully crafted, more so than any I can remember.

Roberts spoke on his own behalf, as though it were a CAMPAIGN speech!

Am I wrong? Did any other SCOTUS announcement involve a teary-eyed nominee, his children, and his WIFE on camera? Or has it been so long that I've just forgotten?

I watched it on NBC, and I thought Russert was going to cry, too.

What is WRONG that people can't see through this propaganda catapultation, anyway?
