Anybody who thinks that abortion/reproductive rights are safe
Edited on Wed Jul-20-05 12:31 AM by renaissanceguy
should consider this scenario:

Say Roe is overturned. The decision is just delegated back to the states, right? Wrong.

What makes you think for a second that the fundies will not challenge pro-choice laws in court, all the way up to the SCOTUS. Then, just WHAT IF the SCOTUS declares THOSE laws unconstitutional?

The fundies don't want abortion just delegated to the states. No, they want it gone completely. And they'll use national law to make it happen. Nothing surprises me anymore, and I am not willing to sit here and see my country and human rights being taken away. Too much is at stake here.

1. Good point. Go here to see how right you are...
www.naral.org

While there, sign up to send a message to your senators urging them to OPPOSE this nomination--protect privacy, women's rights, human rights and civil rights in one fail swoop.

Thanks for your inciteful comments.

other people don't want, that's what.

4. LMAO! Right they will. NOT, they will let them starve in the streets
We are the wealthiest nation in the world, yet we have a 22% child poverty rate compared to many other developed nations who have child poverty rates from 2-4%. The US ranks NUMBER ONE for child maltreatment DEATHS compared to all other developed nations. Child maltreatment is directly linked to poverty. Our society does NOT care about our children.
