If Roe is overturned ....... what next?
Will the states legalize abortion?

Will the GOP implode?

Will the pro-choice dumb fucks that voted for Bush (or Nader in '00) wake the fuck up?

3. Yes, hopefully, maybe.
Bottom line, we'll never go back to coat hangers and knitting needles.

5. In Texas....
TEXAS LAWS HAVE CHANGED....
Were you aware that as of January 1, 2004, a pregnancy of more than 15 weeks can only be terminated in a hospital or an ambulatory surgery center?

Everyone should find out what's happening in his
or her own state...

Some years ago, I remember reading about NOW's training program....
Instructions on where to get very simple equipment and training for women to perform abortions.

Frankly, I hope they still have this plan and can implement it. It's time to work outside the system if necessary, esp. when the system is that is there to protect us is being systematically dismantled.

I say, F*ck 'em. After marching on DC several times and living through Reagan etc., I say F*ck 'em.

7. Yes. There were plans for an underground
that would help women in states where abortion was illegal.
This was during the late 80's.
And it sickens me that we have to even consider this again.

9. There were many programs that trained women to perform safe abortions
and those need to be revived. It would be an underground movement to provide safe abortions. We did it before, we can do it again if necessary. Remember the huge number of women who marched on Washington, DC and how the "liberal" media barely covered the event? If not for CSPAN, the whole event would have gone unreported.
I am NOT happy about the SCOTUS nominee. :(

6. Don't forget - a clear majority of Americans want abortion legal
Every polls shows this.

The pro-choicers I know who voted for Nader in '00 already woke up and voted Kerry last time.

10. Won't happen
Roe v Wade is far too important as a repuke wedge issue. Think of all the ignorant fundys the repukes would lose @ election time.
Remember, just last summer when the Mass supremes & San Francisco legitimized gay marriage..... The "moral morons" went berserk & the chimp hung on.

12. In every movement . . .
there are the true believers who honestly wish to see their stated goals enacted, and there are those who could care less but use the movement for their own personal ambitions. If RvW were overturned, there would be a lot of happy fundies and a lot of disappointed Repub pols.

15. They Can Always Come Up With Another
They can ban gay marriage some more. With Roberts on the Court, they'll
probably be able to start locking them up again. They can always come
up with more wedge issues.

14. If Roe is Overturned, Abortion Will Be Banned
Congress would pass a nationwide ban, if the USSC does not issue such a ban from the bench.
Senator Kyl has already indicated that they will be introducing Federal
legislation to impose any restrictions that the USSC permits. That
would presumably include a total ban.

Will the states legalize abortion?

The Feds would enforce their Federal abortion law regardless, just as
they do with medical marijuana. They have already set a precedent
there that Federal laws that take away freedoms trump state laws and
state constitutions that guarantee them.

Will the GOP implode?

No. More likely our party would, as the "moderates" fall all over
each other to compromise away abortion rights.

Will the pro-choice dumb fucks that voted for Bush (or Nader in '00) wake the fuck up?

It may be too late by then.
