The SCJ nomination will not knock Rove off the radar
Edited on Wed Jul-20-05 02:06 PM by nothingshocksmeanymo
WE can be obsessed with the SC nomination and it can be news for a few days. It will not knock Rove off the radar since Rove is part of an ONGOING investigation.

Bush bought himself TEMPORARY relief. The SCJ nomination news is like Preparation H...the Rove hemorrhoid will indeed get inflamed again.

4. Exactly, give it a few days.
It will take a few days for the SCJ nomination to drop back down and Treason Rove to come back up.

5. Didn't buy as much time as he could have
This is not a sensational nomination. The guy is conservative, but everyone expected that. He is not however in the most "visceral" category, so we will be back to Rove much sooner than if it had been the other Edith, for example, or someone groundbreaking -- like Gonzales as the first Hispanic. In the meantime there will be background checking going on, so we lose nothing in still focusing on Rove as much as possible right now -- and the same, hopefully, goes for the press.

6. What do people think Rove is more important than this?
Rove is this year's Edwin Meese. There are serious charges at play; I'm not denying that. But tomfoolery by a White House operative is nothing compared to a Supreme Court Justice.

7. Rove is more than Meese
Rove is the foundation of this administrations, its very soul, or the lack of it. And nobody says it's either Rove or opposition to Roberts -- just that Roberts is not strong or sensational enough to eclipse Rove; and we should do all we can to make sure it does not happen

9. I think America cares more about scandals than SC nominees.

It will certainly distract, but judicial nominees do not hold attention. Rove will be back.

10. the thing that people have to remember
is that the Special Prosecutor and Grand Jury move by it's own time, and are bound to no news cycles and spin; it's it's own entity. When the indictments come down (and they will) and Rove, Libby, and whoever else Fitzgerald has are fingered, that immediately becomes THE story of the next several months, if not the rest of the Presidency.

The press smells blood here; we as activists need to keep the pressure on them, but make no mistake, this story isn't going away.

12. Also
The media doesn't need an excuse to look away. They are perfectly capable of finding one on their own. IF that's what they want-look over there-a blonde is missing.

The point is those that want Bush gone, out, convicted are many. We smell blood. It's name is Rove/Libby. We are not letting up on this for a second. I follow every crumb..and I have every since the Plame thing came out- I knew it was our best chance to bring these criminals down and the SC has nothing to do with that. And I will do everything I can to keep up with that up WHILE opposing this unworthy extremist ideologue for the lifetime appointment to the supreme court.
