Bush and the right wins over DU and the Media, Roberts not Rove
Well it seems that Bush's plan to annouce Roberts as his SC court judge has worked in taking ROVE out of the headlines, everybody here at DU and in the media is talking about Roberts.

1. But it does not affect the Grand Jury
That's the important thing.

Just watch. We're not as gullible as they *wish*. We refuse to be manipulated!!! :grr:

4. I think we can handle both.
This is the first day since the announcement, so everyone is stoked. But both of these stories have legs and will be around for a while.
I think, issues from both stories can cross pollenate and tie into each other.
That's why I don't think it's that bad of a thing.
All the news shows I have been watching are covering both stories.
Which is a good thing.

Personally, I think Rovegate will help to plant public distrust of Roberts.

9. We can handle both but I don't think the Media can.
They are strictly one subject at a time and right now it's Roberts. And oh yeah, the missing blonde in Aruba.

13. Let's Just Win One Battle At A Time
Rove is the ticket to this regime's undoing. Letting them slime away by forming Democratic circular firing squads that what happens when you're fighting too many battles at once.

After I heard the announcements about Roberts last night, I turned off the tube and didn't really pop back into the chatter until this afternoon. Except for the partisans, most people aren't very excited either way about this pick. Making a stink about it just makes it into the distraction this regime desperately needs.

This is one of those battles you play smart. The grand jury clock is ticking and this regime is doing all it can to keep from imploding. I don't want to give them any reason to avoid this issue and to continue to look so stupid in their conveluted justifications for treason.

6. Well, not entirely,...not this time.
Ron Reagan talked "traitorgate". That's one major network which didn't break completely.

Moreover, we have town hall meetings and house parties taking place all over the country this weekend (hopefully *crosses fingers* with some coverage via CSPAN).

So, bushco and the fascist wing of the republican party aren't as successful as they wish they were,...not this time,...prolly even less next time.

In this photograph taken in June 2003, Karl Rove, senior advisor to President Bush and Robert Novak are pictured together at a party marking the 40th anniversary of Novak's newspaper column at the Army Navy Club in Washington DC. At the event a number of people wore buttons reading, "I'm a source, not a target." Rove is at the center of a controversy about the leaking of a CIA operative's identity which originally appeared in Novak's newspaper column. (AP Photo/Lauren Shay)

11. So??
So what? Does that mean Fitzgerald has stopped doing the case? No. We can talk about other things here. Good grief. If you want to spark a conversation about Rove then start your own thread.

12. Naa. It had to happen anyway.
Did ya think * was going to wait until the grand jury finished deliberations?

Supreme court justice retires to spend time with husband suffering from Alzheimer's.
New justice needs to be selected.
It doesn't happen too often so...it's news.
That it.
And, there will be other big news stories in the future. But the independent investigation and grand jury marches on.

A lot of Amuricans can't concentrate on more than one thing at a time, but we can.

Mike Malloy also covered both issues.
