Rupert Murdoch sets up shop in cyberspace
A brief blurb from Showbizdata about Murdoch's web push:

In short, News Corp is greatly expanding its holdings in Intermix Media, the parent company of MySpace.com and Grab.com among others. It extends the reach of Murdoch's tentacles into mainstream web portals and provides a route to influence their young demographics. Fox Interactive Media president Ross Levinsohn is quoted as saying, "In the future, there may be opportunities for people who have sites on MySpace.com to become Fox TV personalities, American Idol contenders, or even Fox News bloggers."

MySpace is a hugely popular portal, and its doubtful that many subscribers know their new daddy at this point. It's a smart move from the point of view of advancing their agenda and should be noted by progressive interests. It encourages content that fits their needs and rewards it. Any doubt that progressive voices setting up blog shop will be filtered out in one way or another? They certainly won't show up on Fox News unless of course the plans are to pluck a few crazies in order the paint the Left as caricatures and loons.
